the linked tree apparently has some issues but it is from this instagram which is a major lgbt organisation in Ghana. another equal rights organisation is rightify
if you do donate and you have euro, usd, or other western currencies they'll be quite powerful in ghana to the cedi, which is now almost 12 to the us dollar.

Ghana's Parliament just passed its anti-LGBT+ bill – rushing it through before a foreign-funded anti-rights conference. But the President ca
Green Heron (Butorides virescens) very intensely focused on a fish. Family Ardeiae, order Pelecaniformes.

Wilson's Phalarope (Phalaropus tricolor). Family Scolopacidae, order Charadriiformes.
While typically in bird species the male is brighter and more colorful than females, in this species it's the opposite! The colorful birds are the females while the duller ones are male.
Female Wilson's Phalarope also usually take the role in courtship instead of males, and the males are the ones who incubate the eggs and care for the young.

Brown-headed Cowbirds (Molothrus ater), female (top) and male (bottom), taken April 17, 2026, in Georgia, US
A small flock of cowbirds perched in the shade of an oak tree with several males crowding around a female! I was initially attracted to this crowd because of how noisy these boys were being and stayed because they were partaking in very interesting courting behavior! To attract females, cowbirds partake in "lekking" which is when a group of male animals group up into bachelor groups, or leks, and display to females together. Other lekking birds like turkeys, grouse, and various tropical birds usually stake out a territory where the group of males will reside, but, because cowbirds are nomadic, their leks go wherever the ladies go, a practice called "mobile lekking." There were 5 or 6 males in this group, all taking turns to puff up in front of their prospective mate while she judged them. If she was interested, she would have eventually chosen a male to mate with, but the crowd didn't stick around long enough for me to see!

These heron's are soooo beautiful. It's always such a treat to see them, I haven't seen any in a few years.

Black-bellied Plover (Pluvialis squatarola). Family Charadriidae, order Charadriiformes.
I've always wanted to see this gorgeous, stunning bird, and I finally got the chance while in Texas! There were several roaming along the beach throughout the days that I was there, and I was so thrilled they came so close! I will have a TON more photos of them to come. I've barely finished editing the first half of my trip.

"do it scared" is valuable advice but it'd also be SIIIICK and AWESOME if it stopped being scary at some point. any point
