So how do you feel about Gallavich and their ending. I know we were suffering a month ago but i think I’m a better place now and can move on happily
They didn’t participate in another orgy so I’m happy about that.
I’ll convince you. After the camera cut they walked towards the other guys and realized they didn’t really know how to join and realized they didn’t even want to join in so they made out with eachother for a few and then left. I think it’s important to note nothing was said about it when they came home. Mickey made it a point to say handjobs, but all he said was “duck/orgy” with laugh. He would have made a snarky comment like he did after the steam room imo. Plus they didn’t want to fuck them
The handjobs piss me off too 🤷🏻♀️
I can’t believe people liked that episode. There is something wrong with all of you.
I love you, Mickey Milkovich. More than anything. And if you’ll let me, I’d like to spend the rest of my life - Jesus Christ. Save the fucking speech, you pussy.
Why this time it’s different
Up until season 10, Mickey has forgiven just about the worst of their relationship. After 5x12 and 6x01, he still clung on. After 7x11, he got himself arrested to be with his love. Season 10 is a game changer and I think I understand why. Mickey has most definitely been crushed to oblivion. He’s felt the sting of rejection so many times. But he thought it was over. When Ian proposed, he thought it was done. He thought the rejection was a thing of the past, that Ian was declaring never to make him doubt his love for him. He thought it would never happen again. He was assured he was about to get everything he ever wanted, an eternal promise that he would never feel abandoned or unloved again. Then he saw it dissipate in a second. He thought it was finally over, he thought he would never have to doubt how much Ian loves him again. That’s why this is different.

I’ll preface this by saying that I love Ian so much, I do and I’m not doubting the love he has for Mickey, but for anyone to say that Ian doesn’t need this redemption arc is ignoring the last few seasons almost entirely.
The prisoner told Mickey exactly what it is. When you force someone into a position they don’t want to be in, they grow to resent you. Forgiveness is one street but resentment lingers. It burrows in the back of someone’s mind and comes out even when the problem seems to be long over. Yes, even in the skewed shameless timeline, it’s been years since s5 - since the start of the whole mess in first place but thinking of it from Mickey’s perspective, time changes nothing.
Mickey was the one who got dumped in s5, who wasn’t visited in prison in s6, who got left at the border in s7, and who gave up his freedom in s9. Mickey has built up a wall within himself that blocks him from just accepting that things will be okay now. He has Ian now, in the present day but he could lose him again at any moment or at least that’s what he thinks. Mickey says ‘you’ll fuck other people and so will I’ so nonchalantly, when it comes to their separation, because that’s what he believes. It’s happened before. He tells Ian about how he gave up his life to be in prison with him. Mickey just wants to be shown the same kind of regard. The same devotion.
Think of it on the flip side. Seasons 1-3, Ian gave and gave his heart, attention, and time to Mickey and got pushed back every time. He got pushed to the brink of having to run away because he couldn’t handle the fact that Mickey couldn’t show his love for Ian. But when Mickey came looking for him, Ian let him back in. That wasn’t to say Ian forgave him right away but Mickey atoned for his mistakes. He came out for Ian, made them public, pronounced his love. He did that for Ian but everything after that time? Ian only turned the tables and gave Mickey reasons to resent him instead.
Is it the same situation? No but the resentment is still there. Something so deep isn’t erased necessary in a day, week, year. It takes time. Do I think Mickey’s forgiven Ian? Yes. But do I think there’s still more that Mickey is holding back on? Also yes. He wouldn’t have said half the things he said in this last episode if he wasn’t harboring some kind of sadness about the past. I don’t think it’s wrong to want more from Ian. It’s not bashing his character or making light of anything he’s done right in the past. It’s righting wrongs and Mickey needs that. He needs to have some certainty about their relationship and I think he got some of that when Ian tried to throw his parole for him. Even then, Ian has to do more and agree or disagree, I think Mickey deserves it.
I love you. I know. I love you, too.
