Spoilers for the Allulose Nova Cookie update
OH MY LORD DID I NEED THIS UPDATE- THIS WAS THE PALATE CLEANSE I NEEDED AFTER THE BULLSHIT WITH THE ENDING OF THE LATTE UPDATE-
I really loved this update so far, and while there's always the chance they'll fumble the second half, I have my hopes that it'll be peak.
I LOVE Allulose Nova Cookie so much, she's such a bastard creature <3333 Helios Honey is pretty cool too but god damn Allulose Nova <333
A couple things came to mind about her while reading this story. First, her characterization reminds me a lot of how people speculated Golden Cheese would be like before she released in Kingdom, but I don't think that's intentional obviously lol-
More importantly, she's just doing what Stevia Nova did and cranking it to 11. While Allulose is much more ruthless and controlling, I don't think she has genuinely hostile intentions, or at least, in the sense of wanting to see the world burn. She still absolutely wants to rule over everything- at the end of Universe Ablaze, Astronaut emphasizes the way leaders and their "desire to protect what is precious to them". All the novas seem to self isolate, and naturally, they take different approaches to their leadership styles. Xylitol mostly considers reason and logic, although that is actively being challenged by Allulose. Stevia takes on the role of the martyr for her people, wanting no one else to suffer even if it meant her own suffering, which ultimately hurt her and her people worse. There's also hints of faith which her people put in her, and she has to learn to put faith in others to help her. Allulose seems to follow this similar path, but as mentioned, she takes it to a far extreme. Allulose deems the best way to protect what is precious to her is to have complete control, and it's no better shown than by her ability to control her people through her hivemind ability. It's the sole reason her military is as strong as it is, and thus, her planet remains safe. That is, until the Black Hole and Astronaut Cookie come into play.
Allulose Nova is distraught when she learned her soldiers were being consumed by the Black Hole while fighting it. She genuinely cares for her people, and everything she does is for their sake, including her scheme to use Astronaut as a means to bait and control the Black Hole.
Kinda sad we only got tiny scraps of Aloe and Cyborg, maybe they'll come back for the second half idk? But man am I thrilled to see Agent Jjajang and Agent Olive, I love those bugs so much <333
Tldr: Allulose Nova Cookie is probably gonna be a bit more nuanced and the update was peak :3 also Allulose is so far my favorite Nova :]
