Despite having no need for any added heat amongst this hot and humid Georgia afternoon, hearing Feargus’s chuckle warms Dale up a little. He pours some refreshingly chilled peach sweet tea he had just prepared earlier, and sets aside some extra honey; just how Feargus has liked it since they were kids.
Most folks not from around there, often complained about the weather, but it’s what Dale and Feargus grew up with, and have learned to appreciate it as part of the home they loved. But it doesn’t mean they’d find ways to be a little more comfortable.
Like nobody was watching, Dale was stripped down a bit, for every bit of airflow he could gather to sail across his sweat-laced body.
It was a good day, despite nothing of particular happening. The farm was doing well, chores were finished, Feargus brought some music cassettes from town, they had some cold sweet tea, and they’d probably wrap up the evening with a good supper then making music together and singing, and maybe a little extra of both.
