fruits basket is the greatest manga ever written almost solely for the fact that from the first chapter we’re supposed to be mystified and curious about these elusive shape shifting boys that are so incredibly rare and impossible and secretive. meanwhile one of the protagonist’s best friends and her little brother are also just casually psychics and everyone seems to be vaguely aware of it??? and they also literally never use their powers to do anything about the sohma family curse they’re just twinning in goth fashion and making biting remarks???

i finally got around to watching the fruits basket prelude and katsuya truly just straight up groomed kyoko huh? i'm really trying to see it as two people connecting over time and it being this sweet love story that it's trying to be but i just cannot get over the fact that kyoko was in MIDDLE SCHOOL and he was her teacher. it's so icky x.x she was 14!!!! he was 22!!!! THAT'S FUCKING WEIRD!!!!

they could have easily aged her up. made her be in college and him a ta or something. it's just so gross. the entire time i've been going THAT IS A CHILD GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i love furuba so much but damn there really are some elements of the story that i'm just like 😬😬😬
