There’s a lot of isolation in this series. A lot of people feeling alone, different and that they don’t fit in. Tohru shows them that their puzzle pieces do fit but they need to find the right gap and surrounding pieces instead of trying to force themselves into a specific shape. She also shows them that they don’t have to fit in. That they’re beautiful just being themselves.
This is a very interesting scene. Aya’s taking Tohru to dinner and his spilling his heart out to her. This kind of happens to Tohru a lot. People tell their storries to her. It’s very similar to me actually. I’ve had many a people feel comfortable enough around me to tell me things they wouldn’t anyone else.
