This time, we’re doing something special! We’ll use Fusionist, already a Fusion Monster itself, as a Fusion Material. Tgoether with some kind of mermaid contortionist.

It’s ANOTHER sea lion. Just a straight-up recolor, except it’s... Rare? Well, I suppose summoning it is pretty rare. I mean why would you even do it? You can get better stats with a four-star monster, without needing to go through TWO polymerizations.

Let’s polymerize some kind of lamp magician with a rocker kappa. What do you think that makes?

Today’s subjects are these two brainy fiends, and Tainted Wisdom in particular is one of the rare Effect Monsters featured here - and with a pretty powerful effect to boot! Care to guess what they combine into?

Did you guess a skull-armored Spellcaster knight? I guess it needed lots of skulls to cover all of its brains.

Let’s alchemize Yugi’s famous Feral Imp with some kind of... coconut snake monster? This is gonna make some weird stuff huh?

It’s... a green lady sprouting out of a rose? Is Feral Imp female?

Today, we have a huge-eyed freak monster egg and Literally Just A Fireball. I guess... some kind of omelette fusion?

No, it’s obviously a morningstar-wielding murderous knight. Didn’t you see Monster Egg’s typing?

Let’s combine Dark Magician’s watery cousin with an ugly-as-sin tusked blind... thing. Any guesses?

It’s... a weirdly-proportioned purple sea lion thing? Makes perfect sense, I guess. At least it’s a WATER monster.

This time, we have a weirdly-named undead gorgon and an aptly-named undead dragon. What do you suppose their fusion would be?

It’s obviously a golden mammoth skeleton. I guess at least it’s still undead. (unlike Mammoth Graveyard, which is a Dinosaur for some reason).

Early Yu-gi-oh translation was weird, man.

Take this card for example (one of the first monsters Kaiba used against Yugi). Its japanese name is  ガーゴイル, which is... just someone saying “Gargoyle” in japanese (which ends up like Gaagoiru). So the english name became... a random combination of japanese creatures (Ryu is dragon and a character from Street Fighter, and a Kishin is a buddhist spirit and character from Soul Eater).

A lot of cards follow this pattern - they had an english name in japanese, and a japanese name in english (sometimes made up, sometimes reversed).

Now this one’s special! This is one of the few three-monster fusions. You combine a horrifying gloved monstrosity, some goop, and a mermaid with back problems. What do you suppose that makes?

A sandwich. Seriously, the card’s japanese name is “Sand Witch”.
