[Û]Â â "...Um.... Grandfather... I regret to inform you that I am required to name you a southern-most organ on the outer-portion of the body formally referred to as the 'nether-regions'."
Gentle Idealism - { CLOSED }
"What can one do but wonder? The reader does not know what the writer had intended to follow up, hypothesising never brought the dead back" Sima Yi stated, a soft frown painting his sharp features as he looked down at the boy.
It sounded dull and hopeless. It sounded pessimistic and cynical.
But who was to say that over the years the second son of Sima Fang had not become those things. It somewhat irritated him. An anger to think that he was one day like that. But by the Heavens and all that stood upon the Earth was he wrong. Sima Yi tried to convince his grandson to step out of this idealism and face the world as it was. His own faith in humanity had long been relinquished, ever since he was a child human greed and selfishness had destroyed everything that was dear to him.
His home in the capital, his brotherâs lifeâŠ. So many things and it had taken that for him to realise that humans were in fact cruel. They could pretend to be understanding and caring but if push came to shove⊠They were no better than preachers in disguised robes.
"I do not wish to sway your beliefs. That will come⊠all in good time" The strategist murmured. "Perhaps the day will come when you realise things are not about one person striving to change the world. People will flock like sheep, and if one were to stand against them they would be considered a monster, out cast and he will be mocked. No one else will stand by his side, simply because they fear the same treatment. Itâs disgusting yes, but itâs human"
The ageing man sighed, massing his temples for a moment.
"Well excuse me for trying to keep you aliveâÂ
[Û]Â â His words stung him, the expression the young boy wore dropping into a well-written tragedy that could open at any moment, pages flapping like pidgeon-wings in harsh firelight. How could such things ever come from the elder Sima? You was told by his father that he was to make his own path, that if he offered help to those who needed it, karma would return. This was the way of life, was it not?Â
"I am already such an outcast in my own family, Grandfather." He replied, "I do not think like the others, nor do I truly fit in. But I would hope that, even if you are not here in body, if I were forced to stand alone as that outcasted monster, you would stand there with me so that I was not alone."Â
To tell the truth your Sima You is the hope China deserves. His history was given sadness and yet you can see how having his childhood grown to be a politician or official changed him since he only wants to just live than survive in war. That and he's the only sane Sima. I will stalk him if he meets Sima Yan.
[ Actually, heirofthesima is a good friend of mine! I hope to do some good rps with him in the future. Thanks so much for your input, Iâm really glad you enjoy him! You can thank his father, despite his short lifespan, for allowing him to be such a gentle idealist. ]

    âAs sad as it is, things have always been like that kid.â Hua could see what the young man was sayingâ and to the point Sima You was right, but Hua didnât see anything ending any time soon, at least, not while he himself was still alive. âBut you make some fine points, there are a lot of things around this land that need to change, but I donât think they will change, not in our lifetime. âCause you are right, what is happening to the common people is wrong, but..when this war ends, I donât see much changing âcept for the fact there will be less people swinging swords at each other, and Iâm not even totally sure about that.â
[Û] â "I refuse to let that be the world's true fate. In my lifetime, I wish to see the world in such a state as the one I see in my dreams. The only way that this world can come to be, however, is by people standing up for what is right, my Lord." Sima You offered a gentle smile, his arms folding themselves into the soft fabric of his sleeves. "It starts with you and I, my Lord, deciding that we shall reject the cry of battle and instead protect what we already have. Do you have a family, my Lord? Wife and children? That is where the line is drawn... imagine if your children, brothers and sisters, what if they were drafted? The laws are ever-changing in gender roles under my Lord, Cao Rui. He longs for women to have the same burdens as men. Would you have your wife, your mother participate in this war? Things... must change."Â

This world⊠Does it devise and build to destroy everything? If so, why do we continue to build what will one day be destroyed?

Gentle Idealism - { CLOSED }
Sima Yi did not expect to hear any sort of response. He had not intended for this to turn into some sort of full blown philosophical conversation and honestly it wasnât helping his headache.
"Are you challenging me, boy?" It was not an angry question nor was it an annoyed one. On the contrary, he was very much surprised that the boy could hold his own. Most of his younger relatives just took his words and learnt them like some sort of holy guide, but a challenge was interesting.
"What world do you speak of, Sima You?" The application of Taiyouâs full name was used as a sort of serious indicator. "The theory of good and evil is but idealistic notions created by Man to reassure himself that he is on the right path. Have you ever questioned what we are? Are we truly rightful in judging who is right and who is wrong? Who should live and who should die?
Your thoughts are but those of a man that has yet to realise the true essence behind human greed. Pride, gluttony, lust, avarice, sadness and wrath⊠Are they all not something which creates us humans?â The dark haired man pointed out.
"I do not intend to slander Lady Xiahou Hui, but to every story there is an end, whether a book is finished or followed by many, what happens to that book if its writer were to die? War is not the cause of one manâs imperfection, it is caused by an illness that no human is exempt from. Blindness in reason"
[Û]Â â "IÂ still think that you are wrong." Taiyou's voice broke out once again, the last comment causing his brow to crease and rise. How could he be so pessimistic and cynical all the time? If anything would cause such headaches, it was such. "Even if the writer is to die, someone will read it. Someone will have seen those pages and wonder what happened next. That is how true fiction works, after-all. There will always be hypotheses."Â
He held his grandfather's gaze for several more moments, "I do not challenge you, Grandfather. I challenge your logic. I refuse to live in a world where kill-or-be-killed is the only mindset that people are allowed to take. All of this manpower and money we put into destroying and killing the people we don't like, using the people that provide for us, imagine what would happen if we took that and turned to use it, instead, for the greater good? All of that manpower could go to agriculture. To feeding those who cannot. That is selflessness and it is what the people want. Not that flimsy disaster that Shu Han attempts to preach. True benevolence comes from working together as a collective for the good of the many."Â
"I'm sorry," His voice came out quiet, though still he stood tall, face lowered toward the floor, "I cannot allow my opinions to be swayed. That is what I was taught-- to think for myself-- and I cannot allow that to fade. Otherwise, how different am I from the sheep that follow so blindly the will of an emperor with no plan?"

"To be honest I donât even know what Jiang Wei wants anymore, but Iâve got a soft spot for the kid, I only hope he doesnât screw things up any further." Hua would cross his arms, before turning to face the younger officer fully. "When the war is over? Haha! There are a whole lot of things Iâd like to do, but sure, if we both happen to be alive at the time, helping people out sounds like the right thing to do, even if it is out picking crops, so sure, youâve got a deal.â
[Û] â "You make it sound as if the war will never end. Don't you want to see a place where everyone can live without fear of death?" Sima You deigned to ask, his eyes falling to the grassy floor beneath them. "That world is just around the corner, we just need people to start thinking with their brains instead of their swords. The first thing that needs to go are the rich controlling the poor. The peasants make our food... without them, the royals would starve, yet we treat them like garbage. Don't... don't you find that wrong?"
Ximperia Followed
[Û] â Footsteps echoed down the barren hallway, his heels tapping gently against the tiled flooring as he approached the familiar figure. How long had it been? Days? Weeks? Months? Years? Such a long campaign had left him looking much the same, whereas Sima You had grown beyond compare. Blue eyes now looked upon sulfur, blond locks unruly and swept to one side, pulled behind him in a tail at the back of his neck.Â
There was very little to be said, save for the words resting upon pale and unchapped lips. He and his sisters had been well taken care of by the Yang clan, family of his step-mother, but that didn't mean that the loneliness in his chest had simply disappeared.

Hey it was a good idea in Huaâs mind.
..If only Hua could, if only he could.
"Me? Farm? That ainât a bad idea, standing around some field all day picking plants and helping people sure beats getting shot at by enemies or chased by them yeahâ âcept I donât get to make that choice, thatâs all up to Jiang Wei sadly. Until I get reassigned to something else, Iâm stuck with the patrols.â
[Û]Â â "I'm sorry that everyone's making you fight," Taiyou apologized on behalf of his country, shaking his head from side to side. "The greed of the nation's leaders is what causes war like this. We all want what the other man has, we all don't have enough. Have to have it all... I guess what I'm really apologizing for is human nature, in some way." Thought it would appear that not everyone would be stuck with such a trait, for Sima You was a pure soul if ever there was one, albeit destined to die a cruel and untimely fate.Â
"Maybe one day, when the war is over, the two of us can go to the fields and help everyone out together?"
Gentle Idealism - { CLOSED }
Sima Yi was in no mood to deal with all of this emotional trash, his head was hurting and he was already angry as it was but he took a moment to calm down before any words left his mouth.
"You, there are some things which destine us for the inevitable, disease can be cured but death cannot be. You must understand, whether war is the cause or not, we will all eventually fade when our destiny reaches its climax, our lives are valuable much like books⊠We can learn things from them and they can sometimes be long but at times be very short. Some are interesting and others are boring but there is one thing they all share. All stories come to an end, you are only just writing yoursâ The strategist explained.
"Yes, we should be happy, but not deaf our grandparents, now isnât that right?"
[Û] â The Youth shook his head slowly, slightly pink cheeks flushing below the reflecting drops of bottled sky. If one could simply reach out and take hold of the light this child possessed, they could perhaps live to be a hundred and fifty years old.Â
"I respect your opinion, Grandfather, but I think you are wrong. War and death can be avoided for some if the world would stop vying for what one man has against the other. The world would be forced to give up Imperialism and Capitolism for the true form of Marxism. However, the attempts to set this in motion in the past has been stalled by human nature and greed." He recited what he knew from his textbooks, his eyes never once straying from the sulfuric ones above him.Â
"Regardless of the politics of the situation, I believe that a story never ends. It just gets a sequel in a place we've never seen. My mother believed that one adventure ends and another begins. Please don't take that away from me, Grandfather, for I believe it as well."Â
