I wonder how frequently the White Male Judges look at these ‘kids’ and see themselves and let them off for making ‘mistakes’ because they also once made the same ‘mistakes’ and are terrified at the idea that they should never have gotten away with their ‘mistakes’ deep down, and so they sentence them so lightly as a way to assure themselves that they’re Good Men ™ not Rapists.
