the line of ants rights itself after a second and he looks up at the newcomer. “looks like they’ll be okay after all!” the edges of scott’s mouth quirk up in an understanding smile, knowing by the words that the offender hadn’t meant to offend at all. “ah, yeah, bees! the better cousins of wasps and yellow-jackets.” he almost laughs, a member of an inside joke known only to himself. “they’re neat. i trust them. people who run away from them are … a little silly, if i’m being honest. just let them do their thing!”

“bees are by far the sweetest little creatures, all they want to do if help pollenate plants and make honey.” ophelia was notorious for her tangents, be it about plants or bees. most of the time she’d talk until someone stopped her, but she’d been practicing having more self control lately.

“aw, no, come on,” there’s a frown on scott’s features as he watches a line of ants get disrupted on their way back to their colony. he knows the world isn’t very kind to the effort of ants but his empathy for them after spending so much time working and living with them is pretty high. “don’t bother them, they’re not bothering you. look, see, that one’s carrying like, half a cookie. that’s super impressive, isn’t it?”

“oh no, the poor little buddies!” ophelia exclaimed as she looked down at the line of ants. she had been so intent on getting to the greenhouse that she hadn’t been watching where she was stepping in the ants path. “it really is impressive. i like to think that my bees are the coolest, but i don’t think i’ve ever seen any of them carry half a cookie.”

“What the Hel is a Fortnite and why are Midgardian kids so obsessed with it?” Bjørn was genuinely curious, though he had no intention of actually playing it. “It looks…boring.”

“i’m pretty sure a fortnight is two weeks,” ophelia said. “if there’s any other meaning, i don’t think i’m the right person to ask...”

“I believe you. You’re the expert here.” Soa admits with a smile as he picks up a few pieces of paper off the ground to get it away from the grass. He truly wished more people cared about the environment like they did.

“expert is one way to put it, though others usually prefer to describe me as overzealous and a pain in the ass..”

“have you looked in a mirror? you’re as gorgeous as any flower in my garden and that’s not a complement i give lightly.” ophelia had never been the best at flirting, especially not when she liked someone as much as she liked naomi.

“The plant life is strong, making it through harsh weather. Their home will be trash free soon enough.” Soa knows that it’s important to keep the world clean — they only have one home. They need to try and keep it. 

“as a plant myself, i can tell you first hand that it could always be better..” ophelia was known to get worked up when it came to this topic, which normally surprised people who knew her as a mostly quiet person.

If there was anything Soa was passionate about it was keeping the environment clean, he knows what it looks like when pollution gets out of hand. “I hate seeing the town like this.” He says as he starts to pick up some of the litter on the grass. His gaze turns to look at the other. “It’s important that we take care of each other — which includes the planet if you ask me.” [ @fvllofrain ] 

ophelia had always been outspoken about needing to protect the planet, so when the opportunity to help clean up the town after the storm came around, she jumped right on it. “the poor plants, winter finally ends and then BOOM, a huge storm hits and suddenly there’s trash everywhere.”
