Clayton's 1971 Ford rumbled to a stop outside his daughter's old apartment building. It was the only place in town he knew how to get to from memory. He stepped out onto the sidewalk, looking for any sign that he was close to where he needed to be. "Excuse me, can you point me in the direction of the," his nose twitched. Evie still had him wrapped around her finger. "The um, doggy daycare?"
Lucy stopped her daily walk when an older man started speaking to her. ''Doggy daycare? I think so but do you know the name of it? I've never been to one here.'' She had been thinking of getting a dog but now maybe this was a sign. ''What's your name?''
