She chuckled as the guy took space over her table, Emma couldn't contain the chuckle even if she wanted to. " For someone who is also new to town...who knows? The town is your oyster, right?" She giggled. " I'm Emma, and I'm fairly new to town as well, so I guess we'll figure it out as we go?"
"It is definitely a pleasure to meet you, Emma, I am Kris and I am thankful to know we can compare notes here in town." He said with a tip of his University of Michigan baseball hat before taking it off, putting it on the chair besides him. "Do you have any favorite spots in town so far that you think I should check out?"
''I am a bit lost.'' Andrew admitted looking slightly embarrassed. ''My walls have tan and some greens mixed in. Some of it came with the place but I changed some up. Can you work with that? A medium size piece maybe ?''
Savannah smiled, "I can definitely work with that and those colors really do work well together." She tilted her head towards a painting that a friend of hers painted. "My friend who painted this piece is a fan of those colors along with other pastel colors. If this is too big, I think they would be willing to work with you on commission. What do you think of the piece?"
"Oh, I'm sorry, should I have known I was standing in the presence of a professional dunk tank athlete?" Grace gasped softly, pressing a hand dramatically against her chest. "Is there a league for that? Rankings? Sponsorships?" The corner of her mouth betrayed her amusement. "Though for the record, saying you had to figure the tank out sounds suspiciously close to admitting I was right."
At the mention of consequences, Grace laughed. "See, that's exactly the kind of sentence people say right before karma comes back around." Her gaze drifted toward the dunk tank. "And lucky for me, you've already volunteered yourself as tribute." There was a glint in her eyes that promised she fully intended to remember that. His answer at her question, though, pulled her attention back to him. "I think most people would say they hate fake people." Grace found herself smiling a little at that. "As for me…" She considered the question for a second. "I work with sea turtles, which you've already discovered is apparently a significant portion of my personality. And I'm part of the infamous Sanders clan, growing up on the family's ranch. And... I tend to adopt responsibilities the way some people adopt stray cats." A smile tugged at her lips. "So, Mr. Open Book…" Her brow lifted. "What's the story behind ending up in Turtle Bay?"
"Oh I promise it is not that deep. I try to win things for kids and such who are having bad luck." He innocently shrugged after being at different events and things where dunk tanks were apart of the fun. "The company of this tank is new to me. That is all I promise. No you were not right, we will just never know now will we cause these people are all lined up to try their luck."
"If we are being technical the radio station signed me up before I could say no everyone else at the station was too busy to donate their time. But yes I will be here later in the week sitting right where you are." He said fixing his Detroit Tigers baseball hat to have the rim facing forward now so the sun was not in his eyes. He nodded at the comment about people not being fans of fake people, "I agree fully to that, thankfully nobody I have met here in town seems fake to me anyways." Kristopher thought about what she said and smirked, "How about we finish this conversation once you are done here? I do not think everyone wants to hear the banter between two people. What do you say?"
Realizing, Emma picked her bag from the ground. " Thank you so much... I mean the place looks pretty family oriented, but you never know, right? Yeah, just, kinda new to the place and it's gorgeous. "
Savannah nodded, "Exactly. I know I have done silly things like that from time to time where I was just glad someone told me so returning the favor as they say." She agreed, "It has been a favorite of mine for a long time, I hope it becomes one of yours also. So what has you so distracted?"

kemal stood on the terrace of the country club , one hand resting on the railing as his friend brought up the subject he'd been successfully avoiding all evening . he gave them a slow , unimpressed look . ❝ if you say the words “ arranged marriage ” one more time , i'm leaving . ❞ a pause followed , his expression softening despite himself . ❝ &. before you ask ------ no , i haven't changed my mind . ❞ he looked out over the town , quieter now . ❝ i just haven't decided what to do with the fact that i don't hate it as much as i thought i would . ❞
She arched her eyebrow at the male who was talking a few feet away from her at the railing at the country club than shrugged, "Who are you and what have you done with my friend? And for the record, I was not going to bring it up cause it is not any of my business and I know this." Liberty took a sip of her Sangria which she almost spot out hearing what he said next. "Okay what has you changing your mind and why? What did I miss here?"

the old warehouse sat quiet on the edge of turtle bay , the kind of place nobody asked questions about &. pedro pablo preferred it that way . he stood beneath the flickering light , wiping blood from his knuckles with a handkerchief when he heard footsteps approaching . a crooked smile pulled at his lips as he glanced over his shoulder . ❝ you're either very brave or very stupid for coming out here alone . ❞ he folded the cloth neatly , his gaze turning sharp . ❝ lucky for you . . . i haven't decided which one yet . ❞
Isabella was walking around the city, needing to get some air and time to think. She really had no idea where she actually was. All she knew is the quiet was really nice compared to other areas of the city where she had been walking earlier in the night. She arched an eyebrow at him, "How can I help you decide? Just so you know, I took a wrong turn and ended up out here by the warehouse district."
Des chuckled shaking his head, he figured this person was going to be interesting for sure and Des was someone who very much liked interesting. "Nice to meet you Savannah," he spoke. "I am Desmond, I believe my interior Designer reached out on you taking me as a client."
"Sorry I always wanted to try that and I am glad I pulled it off on you." She smirked getting more serious as soon as he mentioned whom he was and why he was looking for her. "Yes, Desmond, I talked to your usual decorator and I am definitely interested in what you have in mind. Have a seat."
@turtlebay-starters The boardwalk, Oceanside
Evie adjusted her sunglasses as she walked Dutton down the boardwalk. Her plan was to reach the other side and go down on the beach. The Goldendoodle trotted along beside her, his tongue hanging out of one side of his mouth. "Let's get you a drink before we really get going," Evie moved to the side and filled the travel dish. "Oph. Bubba, move out of the way." She giggled.
Liberty had just finished doing some beach clean up which she had done once every weekend since she moved into Turtle Bay. It was one of her favorite ways to give back to the city that gave so much to her. It was as she walking back towards the boardwalk she noticed the goldendoodle and watched him get something to drink as she was going to wash off her feet. "No he needs the water more than I do. I was just wanting to wash off my feet. I think you were here before I was so do not worry. How old is he?"
"Convenient timing for your athletic abilities to suddenly appear." Grace laughed, accepting the towel someone has offered her and draped it around her shoulders. She then shot him a look that made it clear she wasn't entirely convinced by his explanation.
At his response about the radio station, Grace let out an amused huff. "Fair point." She tilted her head thoughtfully. "Although I feel like there's a difference between audience engagement and publicly documenting my humiliation." A beat passed. "Then again, I was the one to agree to sit above a giant tank of water in front of half the town." So maybe that one was on her.
"Yeah," she said with a small laugh, when he asked if she was okay. "A little wetter than I was ten minutes ago, but otherwise my pride should recover eventually." She looked back up at him then. "So you're a disc jockey from Michigan who enjoys random coffee breaks and apparently has a surprisingly decent throwing arm." Grace pretended to think about it. "I feel like I'm slowly collecting pieces of your character profile." A playful smile appeared. "What else should I know before I commit to this coffee I apparently owe you?"
Finally as he was looking around he noticed her name on the booth and moved to hold his heart as if he was hurt. "That kind of hurts that you don't trust me and my athletic abilities, Miss Sanders, I am just going to say that each dunking tank is different so I had to figure this one out is all."
"Oh come on, do you really think tons of people are following the station's social media are going to tease you the rest of the festival? If they do, it is all in fun, it really is." He nodded in agreement with a soft chuckle. "Yes, you did and you have to deal with the consequences of your actions as family and friends like to tell me from time to time."
Listening to what she had said he smiled, "The most important thing you should know is I do not like fake people and if you really want to know me I really am an open book as they say if you listen to the station from time to time. What should I know about you?"

Cassie had propped the door open; the place needed circulating air while the floors, walls, and ceiling were cleaned. She smiled when she saw Savannah round the corner. "Hi!" Cassie smiled, "do you want to see the inside with your own eyes or does the listing work better?"
School hadn't even started and Cassie was planning for her next business adventure.
Savannah knew the property she was walking by cause a family friend once owned it. She had heard through the grapevine it was getting remodeled, that was the only thing she heard, once she got her drink from nearby she decided to take a walk to see what was happening inside. "Actually I know the former owners of the property, I am glad something is is being done with it. That is all. I am sorry for snooping, I am just a little anxious to see what comes of the place is all."
The second the target gave way beneath her, a chorus of cheers erupted around the dunk tank. Grace resurfaced a second later, sputtering through an incredulous laugh. She pushed the wet hair from her face, blinking droplets from her eyelashes before looking up at Kristopher, who looked far too pleased with himself. "So..." she called, resting her forearms on the edge of the tank. "You can throw."
She climbed out with the help of the side rail, water dripping from every inch of her as she wrung out the ends of her hair. "I'll admit it," Grace said, pointing a finger at him. "That was a good shot. And for the record, if that video ends up on the radio station's socials…" She narrowed her eyes in mock warning, sending a few stray droplets in his direction. "I'm tagging you in every sea turtle post I make for the next month." A smile tugged at the corners of her lips. "I guess coffee's on me since the bet still stands."
Watching Grace fall into the water Kristopher smirked to himself hearing the cheers from all around him. He was trying to help the fundraiser so this was definitely working in his favor as he laughed at her remark, "I can throw when I need too. I think having the crowd around helped me a little bit."
He laughed at the threats of what would happen if it showed up on the radio station's social media pages. "You realize that is not a bad thing to be tagged in randomness for a disc jockey, right? It just means we are doing our jobs having people interact with us. That is how I see it anyways." The mention of coffee made him smile, "I will have to remember that, I do love a good coffee at the most random times. You sure you are okay?"
The chime faded into the background, nearly drowned out by the scrape of chairs and the low murmur of people introducing themselves all over again. Toni barely glanced toward the movement. Instead, he found himself smiling at Savannah. "Careful," he said, a playful glint settling in his dark eyes. "If you ever meet my mother, she'll absolutely use that information against me."
When she agreed to his compromise, he raised his glass ever so slightly. "Good. Then it's settled." He caught the bartender's attention with an apologetic smile, gesturing toward Savannah's nearly empty glass before ordering another bourbon for himself. As the fresh drinks were set down, Toni slid a few bills across the bar before she had a chance to protest.
For a moment, he watched the crowd continue its awkward migration from table to table. "I think we've officially become rebels," Toni observed quietly. "We've ignored the timer, stolen another round, and refused to rotate." His shoulders lifted in an easy shrug, settling back into his chair, noticeably more relaxed than when the evening had begun.
Savannah could not stop laughing when Antonio mentioned his mother would use the information against him, if she knew. "Is it bad I am hoping to meet her now after hearing you say that?" She asked softly as she looked around the room as the two of them stayed seated as others were moving to the next tables. "I promise I will not let it be known you told me any information that could come back to haunt you."
She knew better than to fight anyone who she just met when it came to little things about who would be buying a round of drinks. To see how fast he went to get their drinks along with pay for them she just smirked, remembering to be extra fast the next time the two were needing refreshments on their choice beverages for the night.
"Oh no, I do not think we will survive now that we have been rebellious tonight, hopefully we are not the only ones who have chosen the dark side." She smirked looking around once more at the room as she got more relaxed in the chair which she was sitting holding her drink up for a toast. "To all the rebellious ones here tonight at Lux."
jackson glanced up from the painting he'd been pretending to study , a crooked smile tugging at the corner of his lips as he slipped one hand into the pocket of his jeans. ❝ unless you've got a hidden talent for making people show up on time , i'm afraid i'm beyond saving ❞ a quiet chuckle escaped him as his gaze flickered toward the front window before settling back on her. ❝ i was supposed to be meeting someone here , but i'm starting to think the artwork's got a better chance of keeping me company than my date does. figured i'd kill some time looking around instead of staring at my phone like some desperate fool. ❞ he tilted his head toward the paintings lining the walls , his smile growing a little more genuine. ❝ since you were kind enough to offer , if you could only take one of these home , which one would it be ? i could use the distraction . . . &. maybe a second opinion while i'm getting stood up . ❞
Savannah smirked at the painting he was looking at and than back at him. "Ouch, least you chose a good place to escape time and get lost in some pretty art by local artists, right?" The way he said fool she did not know how to react. She knew the traffic in town, "I hate to ask. But what time were they supposed to be here to meet you? Traffic in and around town can be crazy during tourist season. All I am saying is I would give them a little more time cause you just never know." He asked her opinion on which piece she would take home. As much as she was wanting to sell one of her pieces, the piece she was looking at to use for a potential client's living room was the one she presented to the male. "It would actually be this abstract one, the colors and the composition is really well done. I could see it in so many different styled rooms or offices." She looked towards the door in hopes his date would show up.
