Sometimes when everything seems falling apart, we want to go home. But where is home? Is it where your parents are? Where you sisters and brothers sleep? Where you kids sleep? Where you spouse is? It depends because each of us has a different answer. For me home is where I can take of my mask. Where no one around and  just enjoying myself. Enjoying my “me time”. Read some good books while enjoying my favorite musics. Or maybe just watching my favorite movie. Erving Goffman said it as “the back stage”. It is a place where no one around and you just being you. 

Isn’t wonderful to just dancing around with your underwear in your own room. Shake the stress out of your nerves. Have you ever do that? I have. A lot of times. And it helps every single time. Afterwards I feel that everything will be ok. Maybe because the endorphins kicks in too.

You may have a lot of money to buy a big beautiful house but if you have it with the wrong person who take away your “back stage” time, it won’t be your home. So think meticulously with whom you will built your house.

A Beautiful Mind

Some years ago I heard this words and I thought to my self, wow this is a very beautiful words. Then I watched the movie some years after. The movie was a blast in my head since I learned psychology. I loved it and it gave me some perspective during my collage time. But the movie has a very different insight from my perspective. I kept asking what make it different. And honestly, I couldn’t explain it at that time. Until few days ago.

Here’s me, trying to make a picture of an insight what is a beautiful mind from my perspective.

A beautiful mind is something that you can see from someone who doesn’t love himself. His love is selfless. His love is all about giving and giving and giving without thinking what he gets back after. He never think badly about people who mistreat him. He even love still someone who betrays him. He never think about revenge. And he will not do any harm to someone who did unfairly to him. All he does is love and forgive. Yes, even forgot everyone who has hurt him.

He has a beauty that way above any imagination. You can see something different that glowing through his skin. It radiant and you can feel the purity of his heart. His touch is gentle that it calms every tense you feel. His smile take every breath away and you realize for the first time after many years of stressful life that you can breathe again. His words are calming like a sound of a water, like a sound of a sea. His mind is full of kindness that change the way you think about this world.

You might say that this is just an imagination, this is way too impossible. How can someone do kind to people who has been hurting him for years? How can someone so selfless that all he can do is just forgive and forgive? Me, as a human has no answer to it. Because in this world I feel that everything has become so inhuman. People killing people. People raping other’s rights. Unfair is a just a thing that very common everywhere. Hope was raped from any of us. But I tell you what, I met him in person. I talked to him, a lot of time and I realize how much he changed me. How much I learn it is better to forgive than to hold on a grudge. I learn how to move forward and still have a love in my heart. He gave me hope once again. I’m alive once again. I have faith that everything will be alright.

This person describe exactly how a beautiful mind is in my perspective. I hope in this unfairly and inhuman time of world, a lot of people can meet this kind of person. So hope that has gone for years can finally fill your heart. So that once again you can feel alive for the first time after a long time of sleep.
