"Ugh, it's too warm. Where's the aircon guy when you need him..."
She'd stepped out of her bedroom, wandering towards the kitchen to grab a drink; the dog at the edge of her bed blissfully unaware of her movements.
Soft feet thumped against the carpeted floor, one hand wiping sweat from the bottom of her sports-bra whilst another scratched the top of her head. Water was on the menu, though she could go for a decent soda.
Why was it so hard to get Pepsi Max in cherry flavor over here?
There was a heavy exhale of a sigh as fingers gripped at the fridge, illuminating the world behind her; it wasn't until she turned around that she saw him, hand dropping the bottle of water to the floor akin to deer in headlights.
Was he here to rob her? Steal her stuff? Kidnap her!? The dog hadn't arose at all, seemingly still blissfully unaware of the intruder in her home. The doors seemed to still be shut, and the window behind him locked.
In a sudden surge of adrenaline, the brunette reached for a kitchen knife; she wasn't the most agile of individuals, but she had the bulk to act like a tank.
He didn't seem armed himself; Eva only wished that the lights were turned on. Even as her thoughts raced and tears swelled in her eyes, her voice croaked out in a psuedo-scream.
"G-Google! Turn on all the lights!"
It were akin to a flashbang, the sudden explosion of light flooding the room instantly. There was a moment where Eva prepared to lunge forwards, feet moving faster than her brain was able to comprehend. It felt like she were in slow motion, her her heart thumping violently in its cage against her breast.
Eva's voice was a squeak, like a mouse, her body shuddering as anxiety flooded from her body in droves. With a gasp she fell to her knees, knife dropping to the carpet and bouncing away.
"H-How did-- When did-- How did--"
She repeated herself a couple of times, trying to figure out just where he'd come from. How he'd gotten into her house; the most they'd done was share images online!
"Fucking hell dude. You scared the living shit out of me! I think I need a cigarette after that! How did you get in here, and what are you doing here?"
