Alright, kiddos. Basically, I have the best boyfriend and we’re going to the Harry Potter Studio Tour tomorrow for the Hogwarts in the Snow so I will be on sparsely tonight and probably not at all tomorrow or very late. So here’s my drafts across all my muses that will be done tomorrow night OR Wednesday depending on how exhausted I am from the HP goodness.

Finn can hear her growl, though no one else can. She looks into the flames, concentrating until they grew higher, high enough to distract her from looking at Finn.

Finn decided to leave Freya be, going back to his role of watching out for potential dangers.

She looked up at him, her expression hurt. [Finn, please…?] She looked around at the other Witches with their Familiars, many of whom were wed, or soon to be. She thought about leaving, it would be easy to slip out, but in doing so she knew Finn would abandon his post & she didn’t want to do that to him. Instead she walked across the clearing towards a bonfire that was closer to the edge of the magical protective line. She sat down on a log, staring into the flames, tossing bits of twig into it.

Finn watched as Freya moved from the edge of the party and sat down. [Freya, understand that I want you to enjoy yourself with others like you. This is a rare chance to interact with witches freely.]

[I don’t. I tailor it around what I want, which is you. Stop being so foolish, my sweet snake.] He could tell she was starting to get exasperated.

She bit her lower lip, looking around. Elijah & Niklaus were occupied, as was Hayley. [Mummm…I’m fine…enjoying my cider & truthfully thinking about orders I have at work.] She shrugged.

[You should talk to the others, these are your people.] Finn instructed as he lay his head against the tree branch. [Do I have to stop talking to you so you’ll do it?] He teased.

She steps closer to him, cupping his face in her hands. [I do not feel I am ‘stuck’ anywhere. I choose to be here because it pleases me to not be surrounded by people all of the time. You are my Family, Finn. I will always choose you.] Her voice is strong & clear in his head, & her eyes look deeply into his.

Finn felt his face be taken into her hands, turning into her grip and listening to her words. He held her gaze and cleared his throat. [You may not feel like that. But it does not mean that I do not feel like that.] And he did, he feared that she would live a half life by his side after years of struggling to be free. [I have had my time of freedom, travelled the world and you have had none of it.]

She sighs softly, [I wish I knew how to make you understand. What good would seeing the world do me, if I didn’t have you by my side?]

Finn listened to her speak and shook his head once more. [I just want you to know that you can do anything you wish or want to, you never have to tailor your life around me.]

She looked up at him, grinning widely. [Oh stop it! They know I am likely talking to you.] She goes as far as to stick her tongue out at him, still giggling.

[Or they think that you have completely lost the plot.] He smirked as she grinned, glad that she was smiling. [You should chat with the other witches. Take advantage of this opportunity to meet in the open.]

[Other familiars have fur & feathers. You do not.] He can hear the growl in her voice, she is agitated, & trying to hide it.

[Freya, please calm down and do not worry about me. I have been in colder conditions than this for much longer.] He told her gently. Finn decided he should change tactics on his next attempt. [Next time I stand watch, I will let you wrap me in a scarf.]

She actually giggles out loud, quickly covering her mouth with her hand. [Stop it! You would look ridiculous!] She glances up at him, grinning.

Finn smiled, glad to see that she was smiling and laughing herself. [Stop laughing, you will make people think you are mad.] He teased.

“I do have a wonderful life, made all the better because of you. Just what do you believe I am holding back on?” She asks him, her head tilted to the side.

“I do everything I can to make sure you have a good life but you are stuck here on the edge of town, you may never marry or have children because of your association with me. I am denying you the chance to have a family, a marriage, a normal life.” He told her as he pat Poppy’s neck.

“If Elijah’s right, and he does turn out to be a familiar, I can’t wait to introduce him to all of his uncles.”

“I cannot wait to introduce myself, but those are thoughts for another day.”

She looks down & away, her expression sad. “Why do you always say things like that? I do think it because I know it. My life would mean nothing if I didn’t have you in it.”

Finn put a hand on her shoulder and rubbed her upper arm as she spoke. “If I was not your familiar, you would still be able to have a wonderful life with plenty of meaning.” He assured her. “I just worry that our unique situation is holding you back from enjoying your life the way you wish too.”

Finn watched as Freya wandered around, occasionally chatting to her family members but mostly quietly standing alone. His heart ached for her, knowing that she felt isolated and out of place. He looked down at his witch when she spoke to him in her head and continued to tighten his coil around the tree. [Just a little while longer until I am relieved by another familiar.] He assured her gently. [I thought it would give me a better vantage point from here. Besides, if someone stumbles upon a man standing in the woods alone, they will be suspicious. A snake in a tree is less so.]

[It’s getting too cold, Finn. I’m concerned for you…] She doesn’t bother to hide the worry in her voice.

[I shall be fine, I will warm up when I shift back but I am in no danger at the moment.] He assured Freya as she fussed and worried over him getting too cold. [All the familiars have to take turns, it is only fair to protect you.]

Hayley chuckled. “Well, he’s got about 17 more weeks of cooking to do, so it’ll be a bit yet even if he’s an early baby.”
