Queer Self Defense Fund, a project meant to assist broke queers and trans people with obtaining pepper spray and other self defense items by request.
Send an ask if you need free pepper spray. We will be sending them out as donations come in, prioritizing queer and trans poc and people with disabilities. Sucks, but we need a copy of your ID to verify that you’re 18, and we have to follow these rules.
In a period of about 24 hours I received 13 requests for pepper spray and $8 in donations(thanks, y’all!). The folks writing in have varying backgrounds, but most have mentioned feeling unsafe walking home or on campus. It would be amazing if we could raise enough money to provide pepper spray for any queer who needs it but can’t afford it. I found 18% pepper spray for a little over $3 each if I buy 50, and shipping them out will likely cost around $2 each. I’ll need a little extra for 10% spray for people living in Wisconsin and Michigan. So, we need to raise $270. Donate if you can, and please boost. xo

There *are* easy ways to make your own spray, but if you get caught with it you could be in deep shit (depending on your state and local laws/enforcement).
