No better way to break my horrible inactivity
turn: washingtonâs spies character appreciation, abigail +Â season 1
working on turn was truly amazingâone of the best experiences of my life. period pieces favorite kind of work to do because i canât make any assumptions or presume firsthand experience with who these people are. in preparing for the role, i wanted my research to focus more on examining aspects of their lives outside of the pain of captivityâlike how they coped, loved, and what they did to find joy. âidara victor
âI think that, like many people growing up in America, you have a vague idea of the Revolutionary War and a sense of us against them and David and Goliath, and you get a basic idea of the big battles and then the outcome. You know about Paul Revere and that sort of thing. Beyond that, Iâll admit I was pretty ignorant to most of the details, but learning about this stuff and reading Alexander Roseâs book and reading the scripts and reading all this information about the time period, particularly about the spy ring, itâs been extremely fascinating, just really interesting to learn. And then the excitement for me as an actor, getting to tell a story that isnât very well-known and getting to tell about these people who nobody really knows about, the heroic acts that they did. Itâs really cool.â - Seth Numrich

turn: washingtonâs spies character appreciation, caleb brewster + season 1
the great thing about playing a real person is that you get a set of circumstances that you can base your ideas and character upon â you donât have to make it up yourself. with caleb, history tells us that he was a guy with a lot of bravado, confidence and zest, a guy that wasnât afraid to take on the british. we took that into building our version of the character. i find it very helpful when you can base a performance on a real person. i donât know if iâm a funny guy or not, but caleb definitely has a sense of humor compared to the other characters. he has a joy for life, and heâs an adrenaline junkie. he sees the world differently. itâs not a game to him, but he does enjoy a challenge and tries to make the best of every situation. âdaniel henshall
