has anyone considered: him
Edgeworld has it all!!
Worms that can kill you
Worms that can kill you
Worms that can kill you
And, of course, the classic: Worms that can kill you
[ID: descriptions of four different kinds of worms in The Edge Chronicles. There are logworms, slither-worms, spore-worms, and hover worms, all of which are deadly. /end ID]
I see your worms and raise you: Sky Lobsters
[ID: a screenshot of The Edge Chronicles' wiki page for sky lobsters. /end ID]
Nobody:
Me: yea but what if the fourthlings/fourthling adjacents kept tails from the creatures they evolved from
Did a little traditional Twig drawing a while ago and thought I’d share it here! I will never be free from my love for the Edge Chronicles ❤️
the edge chronicles really has it all huh. fucked up beasts. sky pirates. gore and violence. the cruel and vicious cycle of nature. librarians who either double as weathermen or knights. a goth librarian who wears a plague doctor mask and worships the devil. giant bear creatures who are Big Friends. a character named bungus. literally who else is doing it like her

DRAWTOBER #13 - Wolves of Earth and Sky by Why_Live_In_Reality
Did Cloud Wolf recognise the odd Woodtroll child at the Lumberyard? Would it have been difference if Maris Pallitax had still been beside him? Would the most unlikely of families been able to find happiness together despite the Gloamglozer's curse? Basically I still have lots of feels regarding Quint and Maris, particularly how they just fell apart between leaving Sanctaphrax and Twig finding Cloud Wolf. Time to rewrite canon!
this fic rec is dedicated to the 2013 tumblr Edge Chronicles crew ✌ if you're still around here somewhere, go and read this now! I know posting Verginix family content is pretty niche in 2022 but ohhhh my god, this fic is EVERYTHING my baby self dreamed of; it follows an AU where Maris and Quint managed to stay together after losing Twig... and that one tiny change makes all the difference to their story! what I'm particularly loving is how 3D the author has made these characters - Maris and Quint may have their baby back, but that doesn't necessarily make them natural parents, or even good parents, and their respective parental trauma really informs the way they approach him. also, this isn't just a character study, or even a straight book rewrite, there's a whole new subplot introduced and it's so fucking great, I am on the EDGE (haha) of my seat waiting for the next update! a fixit for my beloved childhood faves (Paul, Chris, if you're reading this, I love you, but WHY is no one allowed a happy ending oh my god), but written for the standards of a grownup audience - what more could I ask for????
i love the edge chronicles' worldbuilding and lore. the giant bears are friendly. you might get killed by a tree. all the academics are weatherboys, except for the group that got bullied for studying dirt and the weatherboy plague doctor cult which worships lightning and the devil. there's a guy who is literally just frankenstein but middle aged. for over five hundred years there are no laws and slavery and death via being consumed by creachurs are both perfectly acceptable. most importantly, there are sky pirates.
