The underlying idea is that in some people – and I stress some people – chronic illness might look like this: a very ancient and primitive part of the brain and nervous system believes it has detected danger, possibly a tiger or something like that, and so it produces pain or a whole range of symptoms in an effort to get the sufferer to close down and protect herself. The nervous system does this very effectively and it can carry on doing it for decades. It is really very inventive. I feel that mine ought to be eligible for some sort of prize.

#this is so interesting #stories are of course so powerful #ALSO REMINDER TO EVERYONE TO LOOK AFTER YOURSELF!!#as she stresses there are lots of reasons she may have become ill and it is hard to know what did it #but over working yourself probably will get you some of the way #your body WILL attack itself please put your health first !!#i get mris once a year now because of this #and i think i was very lucky #also her mentioning a tick as a possibility reminds me how scared i am of ticks lol #do NOT let those things near me thank u very much

#i think this is how i feel about star wars the clone wars #it is actually really really good #but there are some episodes that are near unwatchable 💀#the only good droid episode is the one where r2d2 goes to the spa #saying it now #and only because of how delightful watching r2d2 enjoy spa treatments is #especially in contrast to c3po meanwhile BEING TORTURED #who came up with that episode….
