A Titan x Eden’s scene - writing

They’re mercenaries in a cyberpunk meets demons and fantasy world. Think Shin Megami Tensei with Mushishi, Cowboy Bebop and a dash of magic.

Titan is a demon or demigod (depending on whom you ask) living a reclusive life until a party of demon hunters accidentally crashes into his temple.

Among the invaders he finds Eden, who does a favor for him and his lair — at a great cost.

He feels compelled to thank her somehow, and decides to spend some time catching up with the human world outside as a new mercenary.

Chew and Yara, from the universe I’m naming “Butterflies”

A blacksmith and tailor lives in a windmill and finds a wounded woman in the woods.

Morthwyl (chew): The blacksmith/tailor multiclass guy. Extroverted, cheerful, chaotic energy between being very disciplined and devout (to work, spirituality) or just letting his home and shop implode.

Yara: A competent magic user and ranger/survivalist, lives and works in a monastery or guild of sorts. Works by escorting people through the forests and uses the funds to support her guild or hoard everything for future plans. Starts doubting herself and her skills after a tough fight with an abomination in the woods.

I feel like the form of g/t you resonate with most can say a lot about you and your self perception.

Like, for me personally, as someone who is physically and psychiatrically disabled, I connect with the concept of being a giant in a very intimate sense. In every room I enter, and in every relationship I have, I feel as though I overwhelm or burden the people around me. Seeing giant characters who feel monstrous, or overwhelming, or just wrong inherently receive love and be surrounded by people willing to fight their most powerful instincts just to love someone or know someone brings my heart such great warmth.

On the other hand, I feel like I see a LOT of people wishing to be a tiny or resonating with the concept of being small. Feeling insignificant, anxious, not enough. I can understand then why so many people see the appeal of being held and truly seen by those who usually would disregard your existence entirely.

Whether you would want to be tiny or giant, I feel as though internally everyone kind of fits into one or the other (shifters for those who have strongly fluctuating self esteem/image perhaps).

After all, everyone feels like they're too much or not enough sometimes. G/t is a great medium to soothe that part of yourself.

Although I may be looking too deeply into it :)

Dream journal

So! I've been dreaming with giants a lot this week.

The scenarios were super cool so I'm going to share them here. It's one of those dreams I'd love to see in a game, story, or an illustration. 🥹⭐

We were in a time loop and every once in a while a giant would appear and chase. In this dream I remember the palette was dark, with cream-colors and reds. This one was a bit scarier than the second one. It had an air of mystery and a threat of more violence.

But I was somewhat aware that it was a dream, so it felt "safe" despite the mood.

Likewise, we lived on a sloped plain with short grass and large fields. Houses and architecture in general were spread-out towers and small condensed pockets of smaller houses.

Some buildings had rounded cool gray walls and exteriors. It didn't feel futuristic, but rather fantasy-ish, Ghibli-esque.

The weather was clear and sunny, fresh.

Around town there were ruins with broken structural wood beams and piles of blue bricks. Some had preserved, tall walls — maybe they kept enemies outside during bad times? Were the giants those enemies?

Those dreams "played" much like a game loop with day and night cycles, and as I dreamed I realized the longer we, the group, would stay idle, the larger was the chance of a giant appearing. They'd chase and incapacitate us, as if not wanting us to explore those places. Or maybe flee from our town?

Both of our "factions" dressed in some sort of fighter class archetype attire, with light armor, vests, straps, and dark grays and browns. Their palette was blue-ish while we had warm browns and dark green accents.

The giants weren't extremely violent, this wasn't a horrid, gore dream. They were very hostile and dedicated to beating us on sight, though, lol. We had some weapons but it was impossible to fight back, and I didn't notice a clear goal such as "grab this or that," "find the treasure" as we explored, maybe we were just scouts or adventurers trying to study the area.

RIP scout team lol, hoping these factions will sign a peace treaty sometime, everyone was so cool.

I've been listening to some moody, goth post-punk so imagine all this happening with a super edgy track (Hapax - Elegy) on the background.
