Donors to Small Professional Theatre Sustainment Fund could win a chance to chat virtually with St. Louis stars.
A $75 donation places the contributor’s name in a drawing for 50 chances at a virtual meetup with one of the artists. Fans may donate as often as they like to increase their chances of winning.
It’s all for a good cause, says William Roth, founder and artistic director of the St. Louis Actors’ Studio. As a consequence of the pandemic, financial support on which theater companies have come to rely has either been reduced or is no longer available.
“In the best of times, there’s not a lot of funding for the arts out there,” Roth says. The fundraiser is intended as a “proactive” measure.
The fund launches at noon Aug. 6; the drawing is scheduled for Sept. 17. Donate and find more information at stlas.org/sustain.
