That Iranian Phantom

Iranian born and Canadian raised actor, Ramin Karimloo is most recently made his return to Broadway as Gleb in the musical Anastasia. Before that he received a Tony nomination for his Broadway debut as Jean Valjean in the 2014 revival of Les Miserables. Karimloo is most known for his critically acclaimed portrayal of the Phantom in the 25th Anniversary Phantom of the Opera celebration at Royal Albert Hall, as well as his performance as Enjolras in the 25th Anniversary concert of Les Miserables at the 02 Arena in London. Karimloo also originated the role of the Phantom in Love Never Dies, Andrew Lloyd Webber's sequel to Phantom of the Opera. Karimloo has toured extensively with his original genre of music, Broadgrass, and has solo albums available in this style, visit his website for more information. Here’s a self-hygiene check captured by @darnellbphotonyc during our photoshoot. Ha. …. Let me say something about these fitness shots I take. Or any pro-shots for that matter. I get many folks asking me ‘do you ever take bad photos?’ First of all, what’s good or bad is dependent on what the person is looking for in a photo. So it’s subjective. However, yes, I totally take bad photos. Many. Everyone doing a shoot will have many shots that don’t see the light of day. Which I’m grateful for. So yes, bad photos are taken .. I just don’t post them. Remember, most of my social media is used as a promotional tool. Whether it’s as an actor or for concert work. Fitness is a passion. I’m proud of some of these shots. Like I said before these are my current goals which I’m reaching. Don’t be fooled though. This is also a ‘moment’… the right lighting, the right pose, a few push ups before the shot. It’s not actually that ‘real’. Doesn’t mean it’s not fun to try and shoot. Doesn’t mean I haven’t put in the hard work. Doesn’t mean Darnell can’t have a vision for his subject. It’s all about wanting to be creative. Get some great shots and may or may not serve what we do. Just be careful putting a big story behind one pic. It’s only capturing a moment. I’m putting light on that current moment. My fitness moment. What’s YOUR moment. Put a spotlight on that. YOUR moment. Anyhow, when it’s all said and done. There’s my abs. At 39. 🤪
