The 25th
I implore the U.S. Government (my government) to use the 25th Amendment. I understand crazy what we have isn’t crazy it is lazy. And a lazy crazy America is not how I want to go out.
Helen is not of Troy and not of Sparta. She does not live in the towers of burning Ilium, or the ruined palaces of once-great Greece– No, she is found between the folds of history over and over and over again. Blamed and de-famed and cruelly scorned, She is every woman who bears the burden of the faults of men and gods. She is all of us– History repeating itself, maybe to punish maybe to teach maybe to remind But it does not matter– Whatever might be the ill-taught lesson, the shouts of the imprisoned and deprived are forever lost in the clanging of weapons, false pride and forgotten women. Sing, o goddess, the rage of Helen –which launched not a thousand ships but was stifled and silenced by a war fought wrongly in her honour.

Dionysus: I didn't want to do this, but I know one way we can get the money.
Aphrodite: You'd make a decent prostitute.
Dionysus: I'd make an AMAZING prostitute, but I was actually talking about this guy I know.
Zeus: Persephone, quick make Hades cry!
Persephone: Hades you are the most handsome man in the world!
Hades: *starts sobing×
Zeus: Why did that made him cry?
Persephone: I usually say in the universe
The old gods are dead.
Zeus gets high alone and remembers the days when the sky was his, before life caught up with him in a dark alley way.
Hera waits at home. She knows. She knows it all. She wants to tell him it’ll get better, he’ll be okay, she loves him. She wants to take her own advice. She wants to lie. She never will.
Apollo and Artemis travel the world. They have a one way ticket to the moon.
Poseidon swims into the sea, or maybe it’s the sky. No one can tell the difference anymore. The girl with serpents for hair mourns for him on the shores of the end of the world.
Hades lies awake, his wife curled around him. He smiles because people finally believe in death.
Athena cries. She is transparent and weightless as she rides the midnight train, her voice is hoarse from protests. Wisdom left here long ago.
Demeter counts down the days until her daughter returns. She is made of memories and madness, but what’s the difference?
Persephone wears her strength and her darkness. Beauty is power, and she will make the world know her name.
Ares crumbles like dust. He stopped understanding war a long time ago. Senselessness topples heroism every time.
Aphrodite gets drunk on the sky again. She catches her reflection in the clouds. Her innocence has left her a long time ago.
Hermes runs through the streets. He is young, young and beautiful, and he knows it. As he slips away, his smile doesn’t.
Dionysus watches it all. He watches the family he once knew laugh and cry and forget. He never forgets. He’s been here a long time. He is watching them flicker out and fade.
The gods are dying. The gods are dead. The gods are us.

Alexandra Bracken, Never Fade (via intheworldofbooks)
I was 13 years old. It was my birthday. Royston Sinclair III had broken my heart in front of everyone. I had snuck into your closet that morning and took that green beaded top that was your mother’s…that you kept so carefully wrapped up in tissue paper in your cedar closet. I was never supposed to touch it, but I stole it. And I wore it to school with my Chemin de Fer sailor jeans. And I thought no one was as stylish as I was. Royston laughed, he said I was cheap. He said that the only reason he’d been my boyfriend was because he was mad at Angie Morgan and he wasn’t anymore. He called me loud and weird. And he said there was a rumor going around that I wasn’t actually a Gilmore..that…I was the gardener’s daughter and…you’d bought me because you couldn’t have children of your own. And I was crushed. And I ran out of class. And I ran out of school. And I went to the mall. And I was sitting in the food court, wishing I had some money to buy a pretzel because I was starving. And I looked up…and there was Dad..standing in front of me..at the mall. He never came to the mall. That day…he went to the mall…and he was furious. Why aren’t you in school?, he asked. Tell me right now, Lorelai. Why aren’t you in school? And I tried to think of something…some lie that would make sense, but I couldn’t. All I could think was that yesterday I had a boyfriend who loved me and today I didn’t and I started to cry. I just sat there like and idiot, bawling. And finally, after what seemed like forever, I managed to control myself a little bit. And I calmed down and I waited. I waited for him to yell at me…to punish me…to ground me forever…to tell me how disappointed he was in me. And nothing came. And finally I got up enough courage…to look up at him and he was standing there with a pretzel…a giant pretzel, covered with mustard. And he handed it to me and he said, let’s go. And he took me to the movies. We saw Grease and An Unmarried Woman. Something for me and something for him, he’d said. He bought me popcorn and Red Hots and we sat in the dark and we watched. And then he took me home and he gave me a sweater to cover up the stolen top and he told you that he’d picked me up from school and taken me to the club for a soda. And that was it. We never discussed it again. That was the best birthday I ever had. I just thought you should know.
Ares: we dont need athena nor anyone else, you have enough olympian badass in your team as it is. Now, if you excuse me,you all can sit on your hands while I take care of bussines
Soldier: or we could maybe we can sneak up on them and see if we can check up a great plan of attack that wont get us killed?
Ares:.....you are all bitches

Pelops, Tantalus' son: I want my father, on his death bed - four or five years from now - to look at me and say, “That! That is the man that I raised!” And I want him to be pointing at some other guy. Because that means that maybe, just maybe, I am not his biological son.
