Emma gave Gabby a look, her nostrils flared and eyebrows raised slightly. She then turned back to the boy that had asked her on a date and gave him an apologetic smile. “Sorry can you excuse us for a second.”
“Yikes,” Gabby muttered under her breath, giving the boy a parting glance. “Look--- Before you go on I should point out that from my biased opinion I did you a favor; he looked like a fuck boy.”

“Gab, we can talk about it later.”
“You can’t just say something like that and expect me to wait to talk about it. What is the point of having a job if I can’t spend my gay dollars on candles?”
“Sorry, I can’t go. I promised to help stop Gabby from buying more candles. She’s over her limit for this month.”
“Excuse me--- What? You’re kidding right?”

Ryan kept one hand in his jacket pocket where he held tightly to his lighter, smoothing his thumb against the metal casing and constantly flicking the lid open and closed. The only time he’d stop fidgeting with the lighter was when he needed to wipe his nose with his jacket sleeve.
“I’m not crying, it’s just allergies,” he suddenly decided to clarify this time when he did, though no one asked.
With a tilt of her head Gabby glanced over at Ryan, “Yeah sure.” She retorted, hoping the extra emphasis sounded as sarcastic as she meant it to be. It wasn’t that the girl didn’t believe him but she wasn’t going to let him know that. “God forbid you show actual human emotions, right?”
charlie-specific:
He got up form his spot on the couch and headed to the counter where he got them both coffee. Once back, he placed a cup in front of her and a cup on the oppose sit of the table for himself. Sitting down again, he looked over at her. “Tell me about Coolsville.”
“Thanks for the coffee.” Gabby stated as the cup, that was presumably for her. was placed in front of her. “Hm,” The girl breathed out thinking over his request -- even though the way it had been worded was more like a demand -- as she brought up the cup to her lips, “It’s small.” Was all she had given as a reply for a few short seconds with a small amused smile at her unhelpful answer. “There’s not a whole lot to say about it. It’s not unlike any other small town.” Of course that wasn’t true because Coolsville had a strange sort of quality about it where things that didn’t quite always have a simple answer was just swept away because for the residents it wasn’t uncommon and no one quite cared enough to do any real digging. Or perhaps, maybe Gabby was the only person who felt like there was something strange about it because she knew that the town was home to a few witches -- such as herself -- and liked to believe that witches weren’t the only supernatural to exist.

Talia’s weekend had been more than eventful, as she had spent it slaving over the numerous amounts of magical books her grandmother gifted her with, learning and perfecting her craft. “Your texts ?“ the brunette let out a soft exhale before shaking her head, a short chuckle passed through her lips before she next spoke. “Gabby — I’ve been working on a new spell, it’s taken me all weekend to perfect. I really think you should come over and check it out…” The bandage that wrapped her arm and hand showed evidence of her truths.
“You’re always working on new spells, Talia.” Gabby remarked with a small chuckle, although despite the joking tone there was a hint of truth beneath it all. In fact she often found herself more surprised upon finding out the older girl was doing something besides witchcraft. “Although you’ve got me intrigued, are you gonna tell me more about this spell or do I have to wait?”

“For as good as they are, I’m not really looking to make gravy fries,” Christopher answered, though he knew that the young girl was right. “I am always up for a milkshake though.” There wasn’t much of an exaggeration there, by human standards. Rosie’s shakes had always been good. From back when he was actually a teenager to now. Their allure held on. “Maybe I should simply start up a restaurant. Coolsville could use something like it.”
“If gravy fries don’t make the cut of foods you’d like to make, what does?” Gabby questioned with curiosity, “Like if you were to start up that restaurant what kinds of food would be on the menu?” While she was sure that these questions weren’t really important, at all, it didn’t stop her from asking them anyways.
charlie-specific:
“Gabriela it is,” he smirked. “You want a cup of coffee or something? I’m about to go order some myself.”
Before answering Gabby pulled her phone out from where it had been sitting in her back pocket to take a quick glance at the time. She still had a few more hours of free time left before her work shift, “Yeah, sure, I’ve got time.” After all the girl always preferred to be around other people than alone.

“We don’t have to. We can always do something else if you want.”

“It’s just really weird. I mean, when mine have torn, I could never wear them more than once or twice after, and this edgy look comes naturally not from a store.”
“Oh really? What did you have to do to acquire that skill--- blood sacrifice? Sold your sold? Or were you just born with it?”
charlie-specific:
“Well I suppose you have a point, Mystery Woman,” he babbled back, his eyes cast down before being cast back up at the lady. “I’m Charlie.”
“Mhm.” Gabby nodded in agreement, “Nice to meet you Charlie. I’m Gabriela but I mostly just go by Gabby; in fact the only people who call me by my full name are my mom and grandma when they’re mad at me.” The girl shared without hesitation, she had always been known to overshare and never quite knew when to stop talking. If she had it her way she’d probably talk about useless stuff for hours on end.

Keeping up his act of disapproval, his lips didn’t curve in to a smile when she mentioned the bucket hat and eventually the fedora. He found the conversation amusing, but he wasn’t about to give that up to her just yet. “Can I pretend to be a neckbeard instead? Will buy myself a katana and act like feminism is the reason I can’t get laid to finish off the look as well,” he teased.
With a quick shrug of her shoulders Gabby was quick to reply, “I mean technically you could but the real question here would be why? You can’t honestly tell me that the choice between the two wouldn’t be Inspector Gadget.” The girl joked, “I mean come on he totally rocks that fedora trench coat combo.”

From a young age Gabriela Hayward had always been outgoing, in fact she thrived off of social interaction and never much liked being alone. At any given time you could count on her to be smiling brightly as she engaged in conversation with whoever would listen; she was the type of person who made friends wherever she went. However, there were only a few select people that the young girl would actively seek out which is why it wasn’t much of a surprise that the second she spotted Talia, the girl whom she was looking for, she smiled brightly and bounded towards the older girl. “Oh my gosh there you are!” She exclaimed loudly, “You know if I didn’t know you as well as I do I’d think you were avoiding me--- Which begs the question why haven’t you replied to my texts?”

He looked over at the girl speaking to him, his eyes scanning over her as they did with any new person. He clenched his jaw in fake anger. “You know that, I take offense in that suggestion. Take it back,” he said with a dead pan face. He was joking, but he sort of hoped she wouldn’t notice.
"Hm...” Gabby began with a quick tilt of her head in fake thought, “Sorry no can do. Plus, I think it would really fit with your outfit.” Of course this wasn’t true, umbrella hats didn’t suit any outfit in her honest opinion. “Or perhaps you’d like to try a bucket hat---- No wait,” She stopped suddenly and snapped her fingers as if to say ‘this is it; this is the greatest idea ever’. “A fedora. Not only is it a nice hat but you can also pretend to be Inspector Gadget.”

“I guess I just miss Alice, I don’t know…”
“Aw Pumpkin, we gotta turn that frown upside down. How about we go to Rosie’s and I’ll buy us a plate of fries to share and milkshakes?”
Charlie flopped down on the couch with a sigh. “I dislike walking for so long in the sun. It’s like I’m asking the sun to burn me.”
“That sounds like quite the conundrum, have you tried sunscreen?” The girl questioned with a teasing lilt in her voice. “---Wait, I’ve got an even better idea. You ready?” Gabby paused for dramatic effect before laying down her idea in two words. “Umbrella hat.”
