(this whole post is OOC yayyy)
hello tumblr!! this is a RP blog for my House MD OC, Gabriel. I am new to tumblr and, for that matter, RP blogs, but hopefully sometime soon I’ll get the hang of it.
I apologize in advance for the crappy spelling, my keyboard’s acting up and my autocorrect is my opp. (please point it out to me if you notice a typo!)
but anyway, <3
some info on Gabe:
-his full name is Gabriel Sebastian Moreno, hence the blog name
-he is 16, with his birthday being September 13
-his pronouns are he/him
-he’s not actually a patient at PPTH! His little brother Teodoro has cystic fibrosis and ends up in the hospital a lot, which is why Gabe is pretty much always there. (Teodoro is the Spanish translation/spelling of Theodore, and Gabe/I just refer to him as Teo mostly.)
-sometimes instead of being in Teo’s room, usually when he’s asleep bc Gabe doesn’t wanna wake him up, he’ll wander around the hospital instead. He tries to follow people around sometimes to see if he won’t get caught or questioned (he almost ever does,) and if he’s not doing that, he annoys the doctors by asking them stupid questions or yapping about random stuff.
-his personality can be described as a firework, in the sense that it’s bright and stunning for a fleeting moment, and then it dissipates into a wisp of smoke like it was never there. He’s charismatic and funny when he wants to be, and entertains like it’s an audience he needs to distract. And then when your eyes are on anything else but him, he’s gone. His brother was always the one who needed help, always the one who needed, period, so Gabe got good at letting the adults’ time, resources, and attention go to Teo anyway.
-likes Rubik’s cubes, and is actually pretty good at it with his best time being 21 seconds, but cant be bothered to join a competition for it.
-other than that, his likes include music, bothering people (if they’re not taking care of his brother), doing card tricks, and piano for some reason. // and dislikes include mirrors, elevators, getting told he has it better off than Teo, and being called smart (even though he is).
-is also good at math. (i do not share this trait so if it comes up anywhere please forgive me) and works at a Mathnasium nearby the hospital, he bikes there once he’s done with work/school.
-is lowkey bisexual but he’s got a job he can’t worry about that
admittedly less info, about Gabe’s family/timeline:
-Teodoro’s full name is Teodoro Davi Moreno Duarte, and he’s 11 years old. His birthday is December 23, and he is a frequent patient in PPTH for his cystic fibrosis treatment. (He was screened and tested positive for it when he was a newborn.)
-Gabe’s biological dad dipped before he was even born. His mom, Josephina, raised Gabe as a single mom working as a receptionist in an accounting firm. When Gabe was like 3-4, she met this guy Néstor who worked in the building next door, and they hit it off. Fast forward a whole bunch and the couple is moving in to an apartment together, Gabe begins to see Néstor as his father (though he calls him by his name,) and when Gabe is 5 years old they have Teodoro.
-(This is the reason why Gabe has one surname while Teo has two—Gabe just got his mother’s, Moreno, while Teo got both his parents’. And yes, I am aware that Latin American surname rules dictate that ‘Duarte’ should go before ‘Moreno’ since it’s the paternal surname. However, Josephina does not care about this and named her kids like that anyway <3.)
-slight edit: forgot to mention this, but Gabe’s parents are devout Catholics. he’s… not, but goes to church with them anyway because it’s easier than explaining.
and now, info about me IRL, and rules/guidelines for interaction:
-both my character and I are minors! No NSFW roleplaying, asks, or otherwise interactions.
-other than that, I’m happy to RP! Send me an ask or message, we’ll figure something out.
-As mentioned at the very above, I am new to tumblr! This is my first RP blog, so if I somehow do something wrong, just let me know.
-I have a very busy schedule. Usually I manage it and come online often enough, but if I don’t answer for a few days know that I’m busy IRL.
-i use she/her pronouns, and like Gabe i am bisexual :D
-another little edit: i don’t have a set way of designating OOC stuff yet, maybe italics or something, but for now, I’ll see what works case by case.
