Hi all!! I am excited to start an account for gaming reviews, something I have always wanted to do. I’m broke, so I mostly play free games, usually on steam! Remember, this is a safe and happy place! :)

game review 6: mezzanine
mezzanine gave me an ANUERISM!! i have never been more confused in my life, but for some reason, i love it. i haven’t finished it yet, but i’m not even sure there’s an ending. part of me thinks it’s an incomplete game but part of me also thinks that i’m missing something.
review:
story: X/5, i can’t find a story. well, maybe a bit of one. again, confusing af!
visuals: 5/5, okay i have to give it this. a spectacular display of frutiger aero, which i’m a huge fan of. it is a beautiful and confusing game. it feels like a lucid dream.
characters: X/5, ain’t no characters in sight.
gameplay: 4/5, not to hard to control but takes a little getting used to.
overall: 9/20, 45%; okay this is a super low rating, but PLEASE play this!! i want to know if anyone can find an ending or anything of the sort! honestly i would recommend this game just to have the experience of playing it.
do i recommend? steam games
HI GUYS! i usually do game reviews, but this is gonna be a little different! i’m going to let you all know if i recommend certain steam games that cost money! if you have request, please let me know...
#1: the stanley parable-ultra deluxe
what is it? the stanley parable ultra deluxe is a re-imagining of the 2013 game the stanley parable. it is a highly awarded game with many interesting twists and turns. it follows a story about a man named stanley and is very interactive.
is it worth the money? this game usually costs $25, and i feel it is a bit expensive, but seeing as it has recieved tons of awards, i don’t think it’s too crazy. in terms of gameplay, i feel like i’ve gotten a good worth out of the game, but if you don’t have too much to spend and would like to get a lot of time out of this game, i wouldn’t recommend it. note: it goes on sale a lot, so i’d watch out for that if you’re looking to buy it.
would i recommend buying it? yes! it’s a classic game with a super unique format. the price, although a little high, is reasonable.
game review 5: If on a winter’s night, four travelers
if on a winter’s night, four travelers is honestly one of the best free games i’ve ever played. it is an eerie yet calming story game, telling the incredible stories of four incredibly different characters.
review:
story: 5/5, four incredible stories from four incredibly different individuals. it is well-told, guides but does not hold your hand, and portrays emotion. this was truly moving, and very interesting.
visuals: 5/5, AMAZING!! a beautiful and flowy way of showing the story, and i honestly didn’t know pixels could show so much. it is truly artistic and makes the story even more amazing.
characters: 5/5, four different characters, all from around the same time period, yet all in very different places, with different races, and in different classes. though four does not usually seem like enough, each character’s story was so well developed that it felt like more than enough.
gameplay: 5/5, easy, does not hold your hand, mentally challenging but not impossible, clear, and goes well with the game.
overall: 20/20, 100%; [my first 100%!!] an amazing game. i honestly can’t hype this game up enough. this game proves how integral story-telling is in the process of creating a good game. well written, fun yet frightening, and makes me feel so much emotion. would i recommend? absolutely yes. ABSOLUTELY yes.
game review 4: we become what we behold
we become what we behold is a satirical game, classified as a psychological horror, but i dont think its scary at all honestly. it does contain violence, so i wouldnt recommend to a younger audience. this game satirizes the use of propaganda in news, criticizing the spread of misinformation, which is becoming more relevant by the day.
review:
story: 5/5, theres really not a lot, its a short, maybe 20 minute game. but of what’s there, its really spectacular. its a really creative way to criticize modern polotics, and allows people to see it in their own view. love it.
visuals: 4/5, they’re good, they fit, and theyre simple. it could have a very complex visual, but i dont think it would feel as satirical that way.
characters: 3/5, there could be a lot more development. idk. i need to start giving it lower ratings so it doesnt end up rating higher than other games [purrgatory].
gameplay: 3/5, theres really not a lot to say about this game at a point. it doesnt feels super personal after a while.
overall: 15/20, 75%; nice game, overall. good message, one time play. would i recommend? if youre a social justice type bitch like me, then yes. if youre not, save yourself from the existential threat caused by the awful state of the world.
game review 3: you will (not) remain
you will (not) remain is a post-apocalyptic horror story game, personal horror rating 2/5, portraying a mental health struggle. this game is really well-made, and portrays depression very well.
review:
story: 4/5, though it is a great dipiction of mental health, there’s not much classic story going on. the scene is very well set, but it doesn’t follow through with the past, or present context. the story focuses on very minor parts of the game, which could have a special meaning, but i would like it better if it had more context.
visuals: 4/5, great, fitting, could’ve done better. don’t play this in a room with windows. not much more than that.
characters: 5/5, great, good development, good emotions. it felt like i was really communicating with the other characters in the game, and i really felt like i was in the characters situation, which isnt very common with games. i could talk for hours about the game experience, it really gave me tingles.
gameplay: 5/5, i mean yeah. arrow keys. not really much else. easy, simple one would say, not too much to say here.
overall: 18/20, 90%; its honestly a great game, but its a one time thing. if youre bored, its late, and you have like an hour to take 30 minutes to play this game, then 30 minutes to contemplate your mental state, then you’re set! would i recommend? yes.
game review 2: lily’s well
okay, wow. this game is freaky! don’t download this game if you are sensitive to eerie horror. thanks to my anxiety meds, i had a fine time with this game, and actually enjoyed it. it’s an exploring-style horror game, ranked about a 3/5 on my personal horror scale [i would say its more freaky than scary].
story: 5/5, complex, a plot that thickens as you go, but still understandable. takes a while to figure out, but is very rewarding once you do. in the beginning, before you get to the scary parts, its super nostalgic. this is what i call an onion game, lots of layers to the story, and you cry the further you get into it.
visuals: 3/5, idk i guess the visuals fit the vibe, but its still not super enjoyable to look at. its super eerie, and at one point its worthy of vomiting everywhere with how gore-ish it is. that’s all, i guess.
characters: 4/5, not much to say here. the couple characters there are are pretty well made, but not much there. it’s a pretty good display of manipulation through power and family.
gameplay: 2/5, so fucking confusing. mouse AND random ass keys AND only left clicking or you go into inventory? i like the game itself, but it was hard to play and it kinda ruined it.
overall: 14/20, 70%. it was good and gave me a healthy scare, but i didnt have that good of a time playing it. wasn’t a waste of time, but i probably wouldnt play it again. would i recommend? yes, to some. good thing it’s free, or i wouldnt.
game review 1: purrgatory
nope, i didn’t spell it wrong! purrgatory is a pun-tastic game, with a great lesson. it is mostly a free-range story game, allowing you to better yourself while bettering others.
ranking:
story: 5/5, a clear but not too clear story, containing romance, comedy, depth, and emotion. this game was like a piece of art: it conveyed a vague theme while giving emotions.
characters: 4/5, the characters are great, with a funny dynamic. though the characters themselves were good, i wish there was more of them to see. the game is about getting to know people, and i feel like there was so much more to know.
visuals: 4/5, the whole layout is completely black and white, and the only color was on the characters: portraying the rainbow [how gay!]. though a bit plain, it still has the occasional detail and easter egg. again, i wish there was more, but i must admit, it looks like purgatory.
gameplay: 4/5, a little hard to use, with some confusing graphics. the controls are a little wonky, but overall the gameplay was smooth. combined with the music, this game is very good at hitting a heart string.
overall: 17/20, 85%. this game was really really great. i find myself thinking about this game and the impact it had on me over time. if it were the story and theme alone, it would be 100%. all i wish is for it to have more, but considering it was free i think it was a steal. do i recommend? yes, it’s a heart happy, calming game while still being active.
