Gabriela Delgado - Hand for the Cowboy Mafia
Age and Birthday: 34, 4/25/1990 Gender & Pronouns: cisfemale – she/her Occupation: Mechanic / Owner of Roadrunner Repairs
"Broken isn't the same as unfixable."
(tw: drugs, exotic dancing)
She grew up watching her father fix the tractors on their small farm. Her mother was a seamstress. Her life was simple. Her parents were good people. They only wanted the best for her.
She took to fixing things and welding like a fish to water. Machines were easier to understand than people.
After high school, she got a job working at a mechanic shop in a nearby town during the day, while doing exotic dancing at night – anything she could do to save up the money for her own place.
Animals were easier, too. Growing up, she competed in barrel racing. She named the garage after Roadrunner, the first quarter horse she competed with.
Her parents still have their land and she’s started her own garage. She enjoys charging the rich people a lot of money to fix their things – it feels like Robin Hood.
While she can come across as rough around the edges, she also enjoys getting dressed up for a night out.
Gabi realizes that there are perks to the town having grown, but she also never wanted Paxton to grow further than it already has, and certainly not to the extent that Obsidian Holdings wants to expand.
She earned her brand by coming up with inventive ways to hide drugs inside of vehicles, making trafficking in smaller amounts more discreet
Her parents, while not entirely sure, are wary of her suspected involvement with the Cowboy Mafia, but they respect her independence and trust she knows what she’s doing.
Fiercely protective of her family and close friends, Gabriela values loyalty above all else. She’s willing to go to great lengths to support and defend those she cares about.
Gabriela has a sarcastic sense of humor and wit, often using jokes or sass to defuse tense situations or bond with others.
Oftentimes, she’ll allow the local high schoolers to apprentice at the shop and hone their skills over the summer months.
Despite her busy schedule, Gabriela still makes time for horseback riding, enjoying a chance to bond with her gelding, Chispero.
Growing up knowing Randall, she’s still grappling with the circumstances of his death as well as the grief of losing a friend, but she also doesn’t know how to feel about his affair with Alicia coming to light.
PLOT ARC.
She can fix anything on wheels, with wings, and some things in between. Her skills come in handy for their group. She can adjust anything the truckers need, and slowly she’s started to help logistically manage the truckers as well. This way of life has given her purpose and respect and most importantly - the ability to protect her own family – for that she’s grateful.
