What is Gravity Falls? Taken from Gravity Falls Wiki - Gravity Falls is a Disney Channel animated series. Twin brother and sister Dipper and Mabel Pines are in for an unexpected adventure when they spend the summer with their great uncle in the mysterious town of Gravity Falls, Oregon. Upon their arrival, Dipper and Mabel's huckster great uncle, Grunkle Stan, enlists the siblings' help in running The Mystery Shack, a fun tourist trap he owns that overcharges unsuspecting customers. Although Dipper and Mabel quickly discover The Mystery Shack itself is a hoax, they sense there is something strange about their new town and together they begin to unlock the secrets of Gravity Falls

How did I discover Gravity Falls?

I first came across Gravity Falls when I made a rare visit to the living room and caught an advert for it. Fans of the show will know why I was intrigued; the sight of a Gnome puking a rainbow was amusing and more "WTF" eyebrow raising considering it was a show airing on the Disney channel. I began to consider watching it but weeks of constant forgetting (ironically I would remember about it at work only to forget when I got home) kept me from watching it until recently when I somehow didn't forget and actually got around to watching it. I only intended to watch the first episode. Hours later I watched all 12 of the current released episodes. That shows you just how fantastic Gravity Falls is, which I'll state the reasons why below.

Why is Gravity Falls awesome?

Gravity Falls main strength is its humour. Imagine if the network Adult Swim made a cartoon for kids (if you're not familiar with Adult Swim then just compare Gravity Falls to SpongeBob SquarePants in that it's a show designed for both kids and adults; kids get a kick out of the characters and goofy humour while adults laugh at references and inside jokes.) Every episode is funny and you can't help but watch the next episode due to wanting to see what will make you laugh next. It also helps that the characters are very likeable, especially Mabel, who's cute, aloof personality makes her the star of the series, though no character is truly overshadowed and they leave their mark in their own way. For those who have a soft spot for morals learned at the end of episodes (something The Simpsons use to excel at) then they will find another reason to like Gravity Falls. Add in quirky and effective set-ups and a catchy theme tune and you have a recipe for an excellent show. Also Puking Gnome.

Best Episode?

Episode 10. Since I'm a video game fan, it had to be this one. Filled with tons of references to the fighting game genre, it just never stops being an entertaining episode.

A fight apparently happened in Evo 2011 and the camera crew captured this guy being displeased, using his paper made salt shaker (which FilthieRich criticised in a humourous manner) to show that he was not amused at what just went down.
