STORE London Summer School 2015
In the Round - A portfolio of student work from our third London-based architecture & design summer school, in partnership with Hackney Cooperative Developments.
IN THE ROUND: Performance
STORE’s London Summer School culminated in a performance of contemporary clowning by Firdaws Fourcroy and Paulina Lenoir, conceived and partially improvised in response to the students’ stage design.
IN THE ROUND: Details
Our students on the STORE London Summer School built their temporary stage in Gillett Square using softwood framing and slotted plywood and slung, wrapped and weighted fabrics from Ridley Road market.
IN THE ROUND: Under construction
At long last, some photos from STORE’s 2015 London Summer School 2015 in Gillett Square. Students constructed an array of open-air stage and seating elements for an improvised clowning performance.

Melt by STORE
“MELT was a free one-day workshop run by three STORE associates, Christopher Burman, Harry Lawson and Freddy Tuppen at One Thoresby Street, Nottingham. Participants explored experimental, low-fi techniques such as pewter casting and whittling to build their own cooking utensils. A wide array of imaginative implements were created such as apple corers, aubergine scorers, pineapple slicers, mushroom roasters and a functioning knife!
All the utensils were put to good use during the BBQ at the end of the workshop when the participants of the workshop catered for seventy local residents and studio members.”
