What we put in our bodies should never be decided based on what everyone else is putting into their bodies. That shouldn't even be a metric by which we judge what is good for us. At the end of our life, it's just us with ourselves, and our own choices that led us there. If everyone else is eating processed chemicals, and you decide to eat processed chemicals, you have only your future self to answer to for that. No one else will be there. We have to stop seeking validation from others for the poor lifestyle choices we make for ourselves, because at the end of the day, no one else is responsible for the choices we make in our lives. No one else has to answer to them.
"Being a beautiful woman is like being in a fish bowl or being an animal at the zoo; you attract attention, and a lot of it. And this means you always have the pressure of other peoples' attention. Anytime you step out in the world, every move you make is being watched and judged, you are under a social microscope and believe me, that is a lot of pressure." - Teal Swan
i just heard the phrase âif you wouldnât trust their advice, donât trust their criticismâ for the first time and i donât think iâve ever needed to hear anything more
We need to do things - take actions - in order to stay balanced
We might have to call someone and express how we're feeling about something and let ourselves be related to. We might have to tell someone something that's uncomfortable to say out loud but needs to be said. The action we need to take might be exercising, or getting a job and going through the discomfort of an interview. When we avoid these things, we get out of balance. We get more constricted, less connected, less authentic, and more uncomfortable with ourselves all the time. Any time we feel like we can't be at peace with ourselves, it might be because we need to do something, or are avoiding doing something we know we need to do. Those little feelings of discomfort are prodding us towards the actions we need to take.
Ask yourself: What can I do - or decide to do - right now that will make me feel more relieved after having done it?
What can I do that will make me feel better about the direction my life is going?
