Would you fall in love with me again - Epic the musical x Obikaka
This is what really happened in Kamui trust me.
I've been a fan of Epic since before it released, so I was really excited for the end and then I heard this song and I inmediately thought of Kakashi and Obito, so I had to do something. The song is like 5 min long tho so I only took a small part of it (I didn't notice it was 2 min, I thought it was shorter but I have no regrets).
I also altered some of the lyrics to fit Kakashi and Obito's story better.
As always here are some of my fav panels:
This is one of my favorite obikaka comics and can we talk a little bit about how awesome it is?
I mean, the artist's style is just divine. I'm ready to lick the screen endlessly and look at all the frames. What a luminosity, what a palette! Just a chef's kiss! I love it.
Also worth noting is the amount of meaning and references that the author put into the images. I read all the posts about the chidori fish, the rod-catana, and so on. I'm just delighted, dear artist, that you've incorporated everything so seamlessly. It's incredible.
The fact that Obito is lying with Kakashi in his arms during the whole thing gives me goosebumps. He's so creepy, wow. The fact that he's ready to kill Kakashi at any moment if he realizes something's wrong? That worries me.
(We're leaving aside all the legal and moral issues of Obito breaking into his teammate's house, climbing into bed with him, brainwashing him, and starting to hug him).
I'm looking at this and trying to figure out which shot is my favorite. Probably the one where Obito spins the fishing line on his fingers and then holds Kakashi's shoulder? It's so beautiful and symbolic.
I also can't help but think of Obito's genjutsu being his dream. A childhood dream. That Obito wanted to go fishing with Kakashi someday, because he loves watching Kakashi fishing. There's something homely about it.
I definitely like the fact that Kakashi simultaneously knows he's in Obito's genjutsu and doesn't. Because long black hair is definitely something with something and he could summon his dogs and sleep with them if he wanted to, but he doesn't? Because subconsciously he knows it's Obito. I definitely wonder how Kakashi will react when he remembers all these instances.
The kiss scene is very nicely drawn and I like the fact that Obito didn't stoop so low that he kisses Kakashi right on the lips or something. Yeah, we draw the line at brainwashing and hugs.
Oh yeah, I also feel like Obito is projecting himself onto Kakashi a bit? He says Kakashi doesn't have anyone else left, but he doesn't? Kakashi still has Gai, the dogs, little Naruto(?), probably knows Tenzo and Itachi at this stage of his life. Plus he has some mental stability, well, relative stability. Yes, he's at rock bottom, but it's not as bad as Obito paints it. And I think Obito realizes this to some extent and that's why he's cooking up plans to destroy Kakashi's faith in the village? Somehow I feel like he's going to choose Gai's death as a tool. The horror.
In the finale, Obito talks about taking Kakashi away next time and making sure Kakashi doesn't make a mess before then. I'm tempted to... Well. Obito's always late, right? Imagine he's late this time too. When he goes to pick up Kakashi, he's already dead. That's definitely an interesting development. Or maybe not dead, but on death's doorstep? So Obito takes Kakashi to the kamui, where he keeps him in genjutsu until the end of the plan, and Kakashi doesn't want to wake up. Yeah, I made things pretty grim, sorry.
P. S. Obito throughout the comic tries to be a good actor and maintain his image, but should Kakashi say they're a good team? Obito literally melts like ice cream. He loses his face and starts blushing. It's so cute. You can see he's enjoying all the fighting and teasing. This is his home. This is his dream. This is Kakashi.
Hiiii~ so I would absolutely die to see some sparrington in your style. Especially if its toxic 🙊 lmao, obvs only if you want to 🖤🖤🖤 lots of loveee
