Ugh! Louie is in SO much trouble. I am his girlfriend, but I don’t need him to be talking about me all the time! I’m not that special!
Really? He doesn’t seem to think that, so I don’t think you should be mad at him. He’s always saying how smart and pretty you are and I don’t think being called “smart” or “pretty” is a good reason to get mad at somebody. And he’s not wrong either, I see you in the halls at school sometimes and girls are usually much smarter than boys anyway.
You’re too nice. And some boys just don’t really focus. I’m sure if they put their mind to it they could be as smart as me-if they wanted to in the first place. I’m a little pretty… It doesn’t hurt to try to look nice all the time.
You know what? Shut your mouth Peter.
Okay, though it’ll sure be hard for us to do anything fun if I have to keep my mouth shut all the time. The teachers all tell me I’m not very good at that, anyway.
Oh Peter, I meant keep your mouth shut about my looks or smarts. Sometimes other people don’t like it, you know? It’s kinda tough to make friends when they either use you or think that you’re all snooty because you happen to be graduating with honors.
It’ll be fun! The fort, I mean. I hope so, at least. Maybe I could help out a little with the structure. If that’s okay with you guys.
Well, I don’t think you’re snooty, Gadget, and we could use the help. I know what I’m doing, of course, but the other boys won’t listen to me no matter how many times I tell them that building the roof out of leaves is a bad idea. Just wait til the rain comes, then they’ll know what I’m talking about!

Hi Gadget! I dunno yet, but I was thinking maybe the playground or the forrest out behind the school. Some of the boys and me have started making a hideaway out there. Usually we don’t bring girls, but I was thinking about taking Wendy sometime, so maybe you can come too.

Um…there’s a guy, he sits next to me in math class and I copy off him sometimes. I think his name is Louie. Are you his girlfriend or something? Because he talks about you all the time. And the other boys shouldn’t mind so much, I’m in charge and they have to do what I say anyway, so if I want you out in the fort, that’s where you’re gonna be!

Go fish! II Koda & Gadget II Para
Gadget watched her friend walk down the stairs lazily, almost as if he had been sleeping before hand. She tied her hair back with one of the hair ties she kept on her wrist, keeping the mess of tangles out of her face. When he was finally beside her she smiled and motioned with her hand to the door. “Let’s roll!" she cheered, keeping the mood upbeat. They were going fishing, after all, and it couldn’t just be silence the while time. “I’m thinking of dying my hair red. What do you think?" she asked, curious. “I’m jut up for more of a change, you know. And I think my hair is just boring when it’s long and brown. That screams normal." she shrugged as she walked along, sighing. “I don’t know. It might be too drastic of a change. And I might get picked on more for it. That would be awful." she then went silent, listening to their footsteps as they walked along. “And let your path be the sound, of your feet upon the ground," Gadget hummed. “And carry on, carry on carry on." she simply watched the ground pass beneath her feet, content with the silence and whatever Koda kith be saying. He could be talking, but she wasn’t paying much attention. It was hard for her at the moment. It was good for her to get out and not worry about anything for a short amount of time, even if it was to catch fish and gut the little suckers.
Deciding not to take her truck, she kept walking. The little fishing hole wasn’t too far away, and it let her think a little and listen to one of her best friends. Koda is funny, adorable, and plenty likeable to Gadget, but she was happy with Louie. She constantly worried and over-analyzed things, but she knew what she wanted. She wanted something like a uh outside her window with a boom box, waiting to take her away on a lawn mower. She wanted to, at some point in her life, have somebody throw a fist up at the sky like at the end of Breakfast Club. Gadget knew these things probably wouldn’t happen, and she knew there was no way anybody would understand or even try to do what was one of the fantasies she had toyed with since always. Also, she was way too obsessed with eighties movies. It would be cool, though, if she had a group of her friends and they were helping her find treasure from a map she found in the attic. By these things just didn’t happen, not like in the golden eighties movies. She turned her focus back to what Koda was saying, and ended up hearing the end of “So…. Yeah." she nodded, not wanting to be rude. She already knew, though, that Koda knew she wasn’t paying attention.
Koda laughed when he seen the final expression on the girls face. She didn’t listen to him and he knew it. He knew it before hand too considering the things he was chatting about didn’t make a lick of sense. He started off the story by telling her about a parrot who was possessed by a demon and ended it with how it thought the cow to eat chocolate chip cookies. It was unfortunate because he also complimented her on how her hair was already ‘pretty sweet’ and she didn’t need to dye it.Oh well, what can you do?
"Oh." He motioned. “We turn left right here. Almost missed it." He laughed as he walked down the small road. He looked over at the teen beside him. He would admit going out on a fishing trip with a girl who had a boyfriend was a bit weird, especially because he wasn’t there with them. Although it wasn’t like they were going to do anything, Gadget was his friend for a while, before her and Louie were even dating, so it shouldn’t be a problem.
"So hows life treating you? I feel like we haven’t talked forever." Koda asked, trying to fill the short termed, out of character silence and get the girl talking again. They were almost at the fishing hole now, it was about fifteen minutes walking time. Koda honestly couldn’t wait to start catching those naive little trout.
Gadget laughed at his attempt to break the ice, relaxing. "We haven't talked in forever. Life's been... Good? I guess. Louie hasn't been talking to me a whole lot. I'm worried. I honestly have no experience with this whatsoever and don't know what to do." She watched the road, kicking a pebble. "I know Louie wouldn't cheat on me... Would he?" She asks Koda, her face worried as she looks up. Gadget bites her lip, afraid of the answer she might get.
Listening to Koda reassure her, she smiled and threw a hug around her best friend's shoulders. "Thanks Koda," she whispered, feeling his arms snake around her and hug her back. She buried her head into his neck, sighing. "It's been stressful lately. I'm just turning into a girly girl again." She released him and continued walking, Smiling and laughing at some of his fishing stories. "No way," she gasped when he told a particularly unbelievable one. "That couldn't be true."
The honors student watched as the little lake came into view. "Hurry up Koda!" she yelled playfully, running towards it and dropping her stuff by the side. Looking at Koda with that glint in her eyes, she took off her boots and jumped into the lake.
in and out? You mean leaving the town? I don’t think I’ve seen anyone do that…
No. I mean in and out of the dormitory. It’s irritating, with the lobby door openign and closing. It gets cold.
Oh. That makes much more sense. I feel dumb now…
Nobody will notice. They automatically think I'm explaining something. Nobody really like to get to know me, you know? Besides the few friends I have and my boyfriend. That's about it.
Well, it looks like things have settled down in the Wasteland.
Thank goodness for that. Someone could get hurt with how much excitement this place can get!
