I want to get to the point where this heart makes sense to me. These days, it feels like it’s nothing more than a monster trying to escape my rib cage. I don’t know how to feel without feeling wrong for it. That’s weird-sounding, isn’t it? To feel wrong or out of place for feeling something other than happiness. To feel weak for showing the softer parts of me in a world so hard and cold, when I should feel like a wolf baring its fangs. So please forgive me if I don’t open up easily. Forgive me for the moments when I barricade myself within worn walls, retreating to the safety of being alone. I’ll come back to you, it’ll just take time.
