HI!! @ray-kel here! Just making a side blog for my OCverse (Galaxy FICSA) if I can actually commit to it lol :)

All of these characters & stories are set one connected world over a LONG ass timeline, think of it more as an anthology than a “cinematic universe” if you get what I’m sayin’. It’s got UUUHH wacky magic, some sci-fi, & a lot of kids/teens going through trauma if that’s your kinda thing!! My posts use large text because I’m visually impaired.

#Secrets - Sequel to Invidia set in the far future. A pyromancer with meta-awareness is torn between her friends. One is a skeptical clairvoyant, while the other is a strange, peppy girl who secretly threatens the existence of magic.

#Ashes - A hypothetical future in which humanity goes extinct, but some reincarnate in a world taken over by evolved animals & plantlife.

#Mirrorverse — A general tag for all stories set in the mirror world. It contains opposite versions of my OCs, so events play out differently.

LORE TIME!!

ESP experiments secretly took place in public schools and gifted and talented programs IRL. No I’m not making this up, it’s all documented & there’s multiple videos on YouTube that cover it.

Anyways, in Galaxy FICSA, students of all ages (pre-k through college) were secretly tested for Soul magic abilities by the CIA &/or Magify— a megacorp that would go on to sell magic products— especially in Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) programs through the 1980’s-2000’s. It didn’t happen to everyone, but as many students were tested as possible. Students with learning disabilities or mental health diagnosis scored higher & were intentionally sought out. After all, the government has documentation of students enrolled in public schools. Maybe the backrooms/liminal spaces were where some GATE experiments were held?

Unsuccessful students forgot most if not all of what happened in the program until adulthood (caused by memory-wiping drugs), while students who developed Soul magic— known as enchanters— were recruited into the army or further experimented by Magify. This ties into Galaxy FICSA’s equivalents of Project Stargate & MK Ultra (which were probably successful).

The goal of public schools was to instill obedience & nationalism into students at a young age, then use magic experiments to convert them into magical super-weapons for the military OR use their Soul magic as a renewable resource for Magify’s products. This all serves as a backstory for some villain OCs I haven’t shown off yet, being prior Magify experiments who escaped containment.

Reviving this blog with a fun fact! (Art included!!)

Fictives—the inhabitants of Galaxy FICSA— actually have large heads, eyes, white pupils, blocky fingers, & a small nose. It’s not just my artstyle, rather these are traits they exhibit in-universe.

The only exceptions as to why fictives WOULDN’T have white pupils is if they’re a robot or some form of the undead. Additionally, enchanters have glittery, colored blood that matches their Soul attribute.

The best comparison I can give is to mobians. Obviously they look VERY different from real animals & they stay that way regardless of what world they’re in— fictives are the same in that regard.

GALAXY FICSA — The Magic System

The lore I’ve crafted & certain are heavily inspired by UNDERTALE and its AUs. Familiarity with the subject matter is recommended, but not required. ANYWAYS Enjoy the read!! :)

What Are Souls?

A Soul is composed of an individual's essence housed in a physical shell! If someone (or something) is sentient, it has one! Souls take the rough shape of a heart that points upright or downwards, depending on the species.

When a Soul shatters, it’s essence— the magic inside— is released into the surrounding atmosphere. Just as there is moisture in the air, the same applies to magic.

Soul Magic and Attributes

An Enchanter is someone who’s in-tune with their own Soul, allowing them to use Soul magic! The more someone relies on Soul magic, the less time their body can survive without their Soul. HOWEVER, strong Enchanters can extend the life of their Soul after death. Pros and Cons!

Outer magic is NOT from a Soul (ex: enchanted artifacts or clothing) and will always harm the user. Side-effects are unpredictable— limb damage, organ failure, or even losing one of the six senses. Soul magic doesn’t have this side-effect, but takes significant time to master.

Soul attributes reflect what a host expresses with their Soul magic. All Souls start grey before gaining color. Sul attributes DO NOT define a person with one word!! Standard UNDERTALE SOUL colors apply as Soul attributes, only expanded to include more shades & hues. No two Enchanters express the same Soul attribute the same way, and a Soul can have (at most) two attributes at a time.

Soul extensions are NOT Soul attributes. For example, an Enchanter can't have a Soul of Hate. These merely add to already-existing Soul attributes.

Hate is a "positive" Soul extension— a Soul enhancer. It increases Soul magic power at the cost of becoming more spiteful and psychotic. Hate hosts have their sclera, blood, and bruises changed to black, and Hate's appearance varies depending on how the host perceives the concept itself.

Sensitivity opposes Hate, but can't counter it. Inherited after a traumatic incident, hosts of Sensitivity become more emotionally-susceptible and respond differently to their surroundings. This extension can represent anxiety, PTSD, or something similar. In fact, Sensitivity can become Hate if the host self-deprecates. Sensitivity's appearance follows the same rules as Hate.

The only magic “rule?”— If there’s a will, there’s a way! As long as there’s reasoning for an Enchanter to wield the magic they do, go nuts!

So I Have a Soul, Now What?

Soul magic can be harvested or tangible with the right tools or spells— similar to a machine that collects moisture from the air and renews it into water. This is how enchanted artifacts and clothing are made.

If Soul essence is meshed into a new body, it will gain their memories and become a Soul dupe. A duplicate may not maintain every aspect of the original, such as their personality, especially if their previous life wasn’t a happy one.

Soul spells are dangerous practices that can grant a variety of effects “efficiently” (ex: sudden Soul attribute inversion, swapping Soul magic, reviving the dead with your owl Soul.) Soul procedures recreate Soul spells with “safer technology”— but good luck affording them!
