When I thought of it, I envisioned Acxa's power to be akin to the druids. Macidus could utilize some brand of altean alchemy, clearly not as powerful has Honerva or Allura. We also saw Lotor being able to enter Oriande despite NO power in altean alchemy. Maybe she can absorb and use them like Allura, but with much less power. I highly doubt that Lotor would pick up some random girl out of nowhere. Something drove him to be interested in her, and he decided to keep her because of her loyalty.

Thing is though, the druids exist on a different plane from the Alteans. They for one, seem to be a different species, if Macidus’s face is anything to go by. if anything, if it’s that kind brand of magic Lotor wanted, he already had it with Narti, who could manipulate minds and such to her will, and was the most powerful of the generals before her surprise death (I’m almost 100% certain they killed her cause there was no way to nerf her. Literally too cool to live.)

And Narti looks like a druid too, so it’s easy to say that she was one.

But Lotor did have the ability to become an Altean alchemist, he was a chosen one after all.

Acxa isn’t a chosen one by any means. Her face didn’t glow when she got near Oriande like it did Haggar’s and she never includes herself or have aspirations of becoming an alchemist. Her arc almost a hundred percent ties her to the galra, not to her potentially Altean culture, so I doubt even if she was Altean and magical, that she’d focus on it.

And besides, Lotor would hire someone for the sole reason that they’d be completely loyal to him. That’s how he operates. He trusts no one and keeps em at a distance and only brings em close so he can exploit em. Acxa is the perfect fool to use for that. Her loyalty is unquestionable and Lotor is aware of that. Sometimes it’s not magical or physical strength that is the strongest tool but the motive and Lotor knows this.

We’ve speculated Altean or Human for Acxa’s other half, but what about the Dalterion Belt? Her horns look very much like Trigel’s and so do her ears if mixed with Galran traits.
