(OOC POST)
A list of Officialverse Blood on the Clocktower Accounts! (If I missed you please reply to this post or send me an ask!)
(sorry that this account has sort of died recently, irl has been getting in the way and i havent had time to think let alone post a bunch but I'll try my best to stay active now, no promises tho)
…Is this what it’s like for you?
@innkeeper-official
(The sight of Innkeeper dead leaves Gambler with a grim expression, and a deep set understanding in their eyes. Although the answer is clear from their demeanor, they try to dodge the question.)
I'm sorry for what happened... It's an awful shame what they've done to you.
I’m still trying to get used to it… the floating… the phasing… what I can or can’t do…
It's funny, the only thing I can reliably hold is my own dice when I'm dead. I get what you mean. It can get lonely... but you have your friends. Just don't look in any reflections, and They'll... we'll be here to help if you need it.
…I hope so. I just… a lot of memories came back… did I… could I… should I..?
...Memories? What are they, if it's not too much to ask.
…Is this what it’s like for you?
@innkeeper-official

*they're wearing one of those big Russian hats. it is much, much too big for them.* Ugh, some stran- some weird- Some bum gave me this hat and I can not take it off. And it is make me talk odd.
Hey I think I know what this is. It's uhh *checks notes* the Ug hat right? Makes you talk with only one syllable words and gives you like... powers I think? I dunno I'm not so well versed on gods or magic. You can still be a funny guy without so many syllables. Here I can talk with few sound words too...
Whatever. I'm not so good at these word based things. If you don't think it's the hat though, I could find a doctor or something... there is a doctor, right?
*the hat disappears with a 'vwoop' sound* Ugh... *they shudder.* The sooner I'm out of here, the better.
That solves that problem I suppose. Good luck!

*sees the gambler and goes white.* You're supposed to be dead! *scarpers*

Ah, well, when you gamble with your life on the line you can win it back as easy as you lose it. Just takes a bit of... finesse.
Waitwaitwait. Actually... not YOU. You got a twin or summat?
A twin? I don't believe I do, no. If I have one, they would have a *lot* of explaining to do.
I mean, you probably don't have a twin anymore, anyway.
That's... not menacing at all. Definitely! Why do you even think I have a twin in the first place?
Once met a bloke in a city east of here your spitting image, only difference being his hair was completely white. He cheated so badly at bridge his own partner shivved him in the side. Last I saw of him, he was getting dumped in the river, stripped naked.
(Gambler's face pales, seeming to draw into themselves a bit.)
I.. see. Remind me not to play bridge any time soon. Luckily I play a fair hand, but if that's the attitude so near here.. well I can only imagine what it might be like here. Where even was this happening for them to do so much...
Well, uh, let me answer that question with a question. You ever played strip bridge?
Despite my inclinations, I don't get so extreme. Death is enough thrill for any night. I do play bridge, though.
*sees the gambler and goes white.* You're supposed to be dead! *scarpers*

(Gambler begins to shift around in place, before waking up completely from their rest. Their hands go instinctively to cover their eyes from the light. Before they can sit up, though, a bolt of pain shoots through their legs. Their energy from yesterday seems to have taken a toll on their body, and any efforts to stand only leave their legs shaking in pain.)
What in the gods... where am I? Where's Minstrel.. where's Fortune Teller? Everything feels so bright, I can't see anything.
Hello? Is anyone there? Where is this?
(OOC: @marionette-official, @minstrel-official)
Oh, Gambler, you're awake!
(Minstrel stands up and goes over to the couch)
You passed out so I carried you here. I didn't want to just leave you behind when there's a demon on the loose... How are you doing?
I'm doing alright. Thank you for carrying me, by the way. I'm sure it wasn't easy. But my legs seem to be hurting, perhaps I shouldn't have ran so much...
(The gambler tries to sit up once more, but their legs seem to collapse from underneath them. They resign themselves to the couch for now, awkwardly fiddling with the corner of the blanket.)
I can offer you the same wine, water or bread I did Marionette. You might not be able to walk for a bit, so you might as well get comfortable
..bread and water is fine. I think I'll hold off on any alcohol for a while. If I'm gonna be in danher like this, I'd rather have my wits about me. What time is it, by the way? I'd like to have a chat with the Librarian at some point. There's a certain peace to a library that I usually would find boring, but I think boring's what I need right now.
I... don't actually know what time it is, I don't have a clock in my flat. It's still daytime, I think.
I'm glad. I'd hate to miss the day and have to walk home at night in this state..
(Gambler glances away, an uncomfortable look flashing on their face. They try and move again, to no avail.)
Well, while you're here, I might as well get to know you, I don't believe we've met before...
Well my name's Gambler for starters, uhh I don't really go out much, and my only hobby's gambling. I don't really have much going for me... buuut enough about me! What about you?
I am but a humble bringer of song
I'm creative and bold as the day is long
I live life to the fullest, and follow my heart
I find, it is often the best place to start
I'm quite fond of couplets, can come up with lots
Wear my heart on my sleeve as a jaguar wears spots
One day I do hope to find love pure and true
But 'till then, adventure and revelry will do!
(The gambler can be seen clapping lightly, just loud enough to not disturb the peace of the indoor setting.)
That was lovely. Every time I hear you sing it sounds so nice. You must've been practicing music for a long time to get so good at it.
Indeed, I have trained quite a bit! It is my life's purpose.
How'd you figure that out? Your life's purpose, I mean.
I didn't figure it out, I decided it! And I just can't see myself choosing anything else.
I suppose that makes sense. I'd want to choose something like that as well...
(Gambler's face looks a little off, as if something is nagging at them, but they're trying to hide it.)
Do you think we should tell anyone about the... situation in the forest last night?
That is a good question. It might freak some people out... but there are some that might find out anyway.
Yeah, I think I'll tell someone. I don't get around enough for everyone to trust my word, but I might talk to puzzlemaster or innkeeper when I get the chance. If only I could..
(The Gambler once again tries to stand up. It seems to work this time, but right as they move to walk, pain seizes their legs and they're forced to sit once again.)
..nevermind.
How many times did you try to run into the woods?
If you mean how many days then just the one..
If yo mean how many times that night... I.. don't know. I wasn't keeping count. At least a dozen, I'm sure..
I see. Well, if you won't be able to move for a bit, perhaps some entertainment is in order!
(Despite everything, a small yet warm smile breaks onto Gambler's face. It seems that a bad mood can't last long in the face of the arts.)
Yeah, I think that'd be wonderful. Thank you.
Alright, there's a story that never fails to entertain that I have heard from a wonderful bard that creates music from other people's song title suggestions... let me tell you the tale of the Brothers in Legs!
(Minstrel plays "The Brothers In Legs" by Let's Make a Music. It is a very silly song about two brothers with jacked thighs, pitted against a man with legs for arms and eventually teaming up with him to fight the real enemy, the one who had pitted them against each other in the first place, Hickory Ham Mike)
(Gambler claps and seems at ease, for now.)
Heh. That's a silly one...
(Minstrel pours another glass of wine for herself)
Anyways, are you feeling any better?
(Gambler tries to sit up, and while it hurts quite a bit, it seems she can do so successfully now.)
Yeah, looks like it. Thanks again for letting me stay at your place last night. I really appreciate'cha.
Of course! I always like entertaining guests. It certainly beats coming home to an empty house, haha!
Do you want anything to eat? I must admit, I am no expert at hosting...
I'd not like to overstay my welcome. If it's not any trouble, though, I wouldn't mind at all. Anything you'd like is fine, I have no preferences.
I have... bread.
...Ah. Well, If you're not opposed, I have some stew at my place. I could bring some over, or you could come back with me. We could even have the bread with it. Only if you'd like of course.
That sounds wonderful!
Alright, I'll be back.
(Gambler goes for a minute, but the distance between the two houses wasn't great, and within 10 minutes a knock could be heard at the door. In Gambler's hands was a pot of beef stew, with carrots, onions, celery, garlic, and potatoes as well as a generous helping of seasonings. The pot was as fragrant as it was rich in color, and it was large enough to feed a small family. The recipe wasn't theirs, they weren't a good cook like the chef. It was a family recipe, passed down from their mother and one of her parent and one of their parents and so on. The pot was large and metallic, with two handles near the lip of the pot and a large metal lid on the top.)
Im back with the stew!
