What did you have your first nerdgasm over?

Beating Super Mario Bros 2 at the arcade I used to go to on my way back from school for the first time after what seemed like trying for forever.

Also, my first time interacting with a computer after I was born, but I don't remember that too well and it wasn't exactly a nerdgasm I don't think since it's particularly natural to me and it's not quite the same intellectual glee for me as my other hobbies.

How many languages do you know?

((Hey, I won't be able to answer asks this weekend, I'm in Seattle for PAX Prime! I'll be having tons of fun playing boardgames and looking at rpgs and videogames... and speaking on a panel! If any of my followers are interested in seeing me, I'm speaking on the saturday Geekmom/dad panel about geek parenting, as an example of successful geek spawn!

I thought I would have enough time to draw an away picture but I didn't, so have this repurposed drawing of Gamma waving. I've got about five left in my box that I plan to answer as soon as I get back, so if you guys wanna send more, go ahead! ))

Have you gone through a gothic phase? What about other fashion crazes or identity phases?

Uhh, in middleschool and highschool I had some super depression, dysphoria, and major anxiety if you count that as a "phase." I did write some godawful poetry involving lots of terrible extended metaphors and black roses and blood and whatnot. You should see my diary, it's pretty bad.

I'm much better and happier now though.

If you could change three things about Dex, what would they be, why would you change them, and list them in order from the ones you want changed most and so on.

1. I wish he was less scared to admit that he is, in fact, in a homosexual relationship and perhaps not entirely straight. He has trouble admitting it and is a bit reluctant to show affection in public when he's feeling particularly vulnerable that day. Hence the introduction of myself as his "best bud" :|

2. I would make his claws retractable. They limit some of the things he can do (including one particular thing he likes to do quite a bit) and sometimes they get in the way of our snuggling.

3. HE WOULD FUCKING PICK UP AFTER HIMSELF AND ACTUALLY CLEAN ON OCCASION WITHOUT ME HAVING TO BERATE HIM INTO CONTRIBUTING. That would be quite nice.

Fame, Fortune or Immortality: choose one and why?

Fortune, I mean, fame and immortality are pretty much double edged swords. If you were immortal you’d have to watch everyone you love die, and you’d probably get bored after the first hundred years and have to watch the entire earth shift away from the values you grew up in. You’d probably be noticed eventually and end up as a lab rat. Fame comes with no privacy, tons of pressure and stalkers.

So yeah, I’ll take fortune, might turn you into a rich jerk, but it also might not and at least you could donate to charity or something…

Is there anything that you love doing to Dex that REALLY annoys him? (Since he seems to like playing Jenga on your tail)

I flick the very tip of his ear as hard as I can.

Other than Dex, who are your other friends? Can we meet them?

My roommates are Mount and Strawberry, twin minun and plusle respecively. Mount is still looking for a job related in his field; he majored in marine biology but is working as a barista, and Strawberry is interning at a firm that designs fabric patterns. They've been my roommates for about three years, since college. They're out of the apartment a lot more than I am though, so I don't see them much these days except an hour or two in the evenings.

Then there's Chloe.

She's really more Dex's friend than mine, he introduced me to her, but we've been talking a lot more since she helped Dex and I out with the whole... Lavender situation...

She's a professional battler but shares Dex's appreciation for ghosts...

I need some help... I just killed a man and I don't know where to hide the body... any suggestions?

Is this how you always pictured your life turning out, or did you dream of something different?

When I went into the Journalism major I guess I kind of expected to be, you know, an actual journalist or reporter, but I guess what I'm doing now is pretty cushy and more relevant to my interests than politics or anything else. I'd say I'm not too distressed about how my job turned out...

Do you style your cowlick or is it just annoying and always there?

UGH. You have no idea how much I've tried to make that damn thing lay down.

Yoshi's World for the gameboy advance. I know it's not the most complex, but Super Mario Bros was the first game I had ever beaten and it was what got me into videogames hard core. Yoshi's World has the benefit of really calling in on that nostalgia for me, but also has fun gameplay and is a good game in its own right. I've beaten it lots of times, but I still pull it out every once in a while and do speed runs.

Wow, a Porygon-evo with FINGERS! Not to mention a mouth, and hair... But yes, how do your fingers work? They're disconnected, so do they work much like my head does?

Yes, they're disconnected, and just kinda... float there.

I have a thumb and three fingers. The three fingers join together into one shape when at rest, and they're made out of smooth crystal much like the rest of my body. They function well enough for most tasks. I can grab things and hold them and feel through them.

Of course, smooth, disconnected crystal isn't the best for everything... It kind of tingles when things pass through that gap. I don't even want to think about what it'd feel like for my head to be like them if I evolved.

((Just so you know guys, Gamma's askbox is empty, and has been for quite a while. So, That's why I haven't been posting asks, because I don't have any! I just got one but keep sending more!))

((But in all seriousness, Gamma does have some bits and pieces inside him, they're just internal and mostly non-functioning. So 1: he's not completely bitless, just mostly bitless, and 2: arousal is also mental, so that works just fine. He doesn't get aroused often though since he's on the asexual spectrum.))
