sometimes people experiencing psychosis and/or mania will come up to you on the street and talk in confusing or upsetting ways. your job is to either have a regular human-to-human conversation with that person or politely leave. your job is not to call 911. do not call 911. you might kill that person if you call 911.
I don't even have the energy to screenshot and respond to your tags- what the actual fuck is wrong with you? "the cops are scared and rightfully so" "mental health calls are the scariest for cops" OH so this isn't about the safety of psychotic & manic people this is about piggy feelings?
and no, actually, this is not USA specific and no, actually, people from other countries should not ignore this post. police violence and sanism weren't invented in the US and they are certainly not unique to here. if you (or anyone) thinks that this bullshit doesn't happen elsewhere then you are not listening.

The A in LGBTQIA+ stands for aromantic, asexual and agender. It will never stand for ally. Being an ally should be basic human decency. You don’t get a gold star for being one.
given the current climate this pride especially i feel i must mention that i love my trans friends, i stand with trans people in the fight against transphobic legislation and those who would enforce it, and this blog is not a good place for you to be if you do not vibe with that

eeby deeby... i haven't heard that name in years...
I finished reading Project Hail Mary the other day and I must say it's a 10/10 read. I felt my brain getting bigger. Big science. Science make brain think. Good stuff.
More importantly, I've fallen absolutely in love with Ryland and Rocky. Their relationship with each other is so beautiful it makes me want to eat concrete. To find comfort in the only other being that understands your awful situation and form a bond so powerful that you give up your lives for each other because if you can't make it home, they have to... what a dynamic for a man and a rock to have bro. It's sickening.
The fuzzy hope this book gave me is akin to what I felt watching Superman (2025) or like HTTYD all those years ago. That sort of floating feeling that's a nebulous love of humanity and the bond we all share just by being alive should be in more media. I want more hope slop please

In 2026, the chicest thing a gay actor can do is never explicitly come out as gay but also make it abundantly clear that he is. Coming out is too modern. Staying closeted is too old fashioned. But this method merges contemporary freedom with Old Hollywood glamour and allure, and it weeds out the dumbest people who truly don’t get it. I call it the Pascal Method.
Taylor Swift does this
no she doesn’t
You clearly don't go here or to queer history and signaling, or both, enough to have this conversation and I'm not going to explain it to you. You could have asked questions, you could have done even a modicum of research. You didn't and you made yourself look ignorant. Goodbye.

A coming of age story about Black kids who finally have power to fight back against systems designed against them.
alright I've got to do some quick math to explain attitudes towards AI to my boss.
we're looking to create an AI policy, and when we were talking about this, my boss (older millennial) was genuinely shocked to hear that younger people do not (seem) to view AI positively (a la the recent commencement speakers being booed)
please rb for larger sample size!
Question 1/3
What is your age, and do you feel AI is a net positive or net negative in our lives today?
under 18, AI is a net positive
under 18, AI is a net negative

46-60, AI is a net positive
46-60, AI is a net negative
over 60, AI is a net postive
over 60, AI is a net negative
Question 2/3

Frequently (multiple times per month)
Often (multiple times per year)
Occasionally (a couple times per year)
Rarely (once every couple of years)

Question 3/3
If you saw a museum was using AI in exhibits, marketing, research, etc., would you be more or less inclined to visit that museum?
under 18, more inclined
under 18, less inclined
18-29, more inclined

Most countries cut the map like that because it's the easiest and most logical place to have a big vertical split! Everyone else agrees that the awkward and self centred way that Americans cut the map so that they sit in the middle is obnoxious as hell.
#Does US have a different map???? via @eldritch-bisexual
Why yes. Yes we do:
^Those are generally what hangs on the wall in US classrooms.
In Scooby-Doo 2002, one of the clues they find is that the Daemons are poorly taught what they believe to be the slang of the era (much of which is shoddily replicated AAVE) in an attempt to blend in while in their college kid disguises\
This is a subtle reference to how white people who misuse AAVE to "seem cool" are actually demons from hell, and should be exploded
This is peak nerd internal monologue right here

happy pride from the trans flag on the floor in deep space nine
I always say: Star Trek: Deep Space 9 started in 1993 and ran until 1999, and the trans pride flag was designed (by Monica Helms) in 1999.
The carpets on Deep Space Nine aren't Trans Pride flag colored: the trans pride flag is Deep Space Nine carpet colored.
