I have such a lenient and loose view of gender these days that I genuinely floundered when trying to explain being transgender to my curious aunt. I kept saying "it depends" in response to her questions without being able to elaborate and "it's made up really but I guess I care anyway. not sure why" and "I kind of want to be like if a man looked like a woman but also wasn't either of those things but also I don't really mind what I end up as" but in my defense it was more difficult than it should have been because my aunt is extremely nonbinary and just doesn't know it yet
