Flames, huh, dear? Didn't your parents tell you not to play with fire? Oh, my bad, you didn't have any.
She looks down at herself, slightly burnt and sore. Given that she went storming into the fire, she was grateful to be left relatively untouched by the flames. ”I’m alright, I’m alright,” she looks up sharply, wildly searching him for injury, “and you? You’re not..?” She tears up again, genuinely worried for the well-being of the rest of the Lost Children, her family.
"But why…why would they..? They live here too, I just don’t…"
He stares as she looks down at herself, glad when she reassures that she's fine. He shakes his head at her inquiry, though his side still burns from when the flames touched him. He thinks back on Dodger and Piper, worried about what could have happened to them. Hell, he's even worried about Bastille, though he wouldn't mention it. He pats her awkwardly as he sees her tear up and reassures her that everything's going to be fine and that all the other kids are fine, even though he doesn't know that for sure.
He shrugs at her question, "You know they're crazy, crazier than the Lost Children, or most of us anyway. Who know what they were trying to do."
She shoots up, without thinking, and wraps her hands around the boy. “I’m so relieved you’re alright!”
She pulls away, stepping back as she wipes her face dry. “How do you know?” Her voice is small and child-like.
He startles at her sudden hug, hesitantly wrapping his arms around her and for a moment letting himself enjoy being close to another person. He chuckles a strangled laugh, "Me too," he says earnestly.
Sudden fury fuels through him when he sees her so... broken. "Who else would it be? I know the lost children didn't do it," he explains. "Are you alright?" He asks, because he feels like he has to. So much had happened, and it had been fun for a while, but after everything he felt exhausted. The island was his home, and no bloody devil would take that away from him.
Oh looky what we have here. A devil.
She walked around the island, having yet to have cleaned the ash from her skin and clothes, a defeated look on her face, before finally deciding to sit beside a—horribly charred—tree.
“…how did this happen?”
Bloody Devils, I tell you.
If they like fire so much, then they should be ready to burn.
Oh alright, you caught me red-handed, but we all have our moments of weakness, don’t we?
I don't.
No, I’m fine, thank you.
Are you quite sure? You do seem lost to me. Perhaps I can take you to where you want to go, I know the island like the back of my hand.
Wendy walked with a careless sort of abandon, not caring how loud her steps were or just who she would alert. She sung loudly off-key as her dagger scraped along whatever tree she happened to pass.
Oh darling, you should know better than to make so much noise. Who knows what kind of beasts you'll attract.
"Stay here" they say, "Don’t talk with anyone, don’t make any noise. Wait for us" they say
To the hell with it. I’m tired of waiting. I’m going to the Jolly Roger right now and no one-
Oh. Hmm.
Hello…
Hello.
Are you lost?
You tall ones are so strange.
You little ones are so... fragile.
I think instead of sentimental you meant coincidental.
Oh come on, dear, don't be ridiculous. Nothing with you is ever coincidental.
Oh, s’you. [spits the words, disgust showing on her face] Fuck off, little Lost Bitch. M’busy. [continues walking, her mind whirring with possibilities of what she could do to Hook]
[He smiles widely at her insult and follows her] Really now, love? And what is it you're busy with?
And why do you say that, sweetie?
It's been a while since I saw you around here, darling. Are you becoming sentimental?
She listened to him talk and deduced that whoever he was talking about, it wasn’t a Lost Child. ‘She left.' he had said. The rest of what he said didn't make sense, not exactly, but there was enough that she could go off on.
"Yeah, but sometimes we feel responsible for the things our friends do," she said, wanting to validate his emotions. "Sometimes it’s like…if we could have done something, maybe we could have helped,”
"It’s easy to forget we can’t control people, and it’s unbelievably hard to let someone who left you go," she said quietly.
[Gasper snapped out of his musings and realized he was... talking to Breeze, actually telling her things that only he knew about. He nodded sharply at her comment, not missing the sharp stab of that feeling that came with it. He sighed and rubbed his face, shutting down his emotions. He would deal with them later when he was alone, like he always did.]
I never tried to control her... [He mumbled before smiling at Breeze, not liking the unbalanced situation anymore] But it's of no matter anymore, we should head back to the Tree, Peter must be looking for us.
I thought you hated us "Lost Fucks"
Hmm, I didn't expect to see you around here...
[Blinking out of her reverie at the sound of the voice, Ezzie looks down, smiling the tiniest bit at who she sees.] Oh. Hi, Gasper.
Hello, dear. It's been some time, wouldn't you say?
What have you got there?
