So last we left off. The lady who beat the shit out of me came back.
She stuffed Jack and Calvin into the cooler. Jack was having some sort of fawn response, because he went in without much trouble. Plus he got to keep his book, so at least he wouldn't be bored. Calvin went in easy too, though he had a few more tears and kept looking at me.
Riley was in a puddle of.. something. It looks like oil, from how dark it was. Whatever it was, he lost a lot of it and he kind of looked dead.
And I was sat in a chair while this chocolate haired woman was setting up another seat. When she was situated, she gave me this shameful look, like I was a dog who just pissed on the floor.
"That was an awful thing you did to Beaux, Jerry!" I don't know what kind of black magic she was doing now, but she almost made me feel bad about Beaux. "I'm not mad, and my boss isn't either. But they really wanted you to know you couldn't just do that and get away with it." She let out a little sigh, putting her hand to her face. "I'm sorry you never got to meet him."
She wasn't scolding me anymore, so I stopped hating myself for a second and started hating her again. "Yeah, bet you're real sorry I didn't die too."
She gave me a look. "Die? You weren't supposed to die. They need you alive." She muttered, eyes a little wide.
I noticed a little movement in the corner of my peepers, so I kept talking. "Who is your boss anyways?" She grinned again, sitting up. Bingo, distracted.
"They go by many names! You really should ask them yourself."
"Uh huh. What do they want anyways? If they wanted to go out for drinks, they could have just asked."
"This is more important than some drinks."
"And what about my friends. Are they invited?"
"No. I mean, it doesn't really matter. They could live. They could die." They could.
Or she could.
Because she heard a creak and turned. And then a knife was in her chest. Riley had stabbed it right through, and she fell off the chair onto the ground.
He must have got her in the heart or something, because she bled everywhere and she bled fast. It was such a mess. Riley backed off. "That's what you get. Pretty asshole." He spat, before looking at me. "Hey, man. Where are the others?" Getting bonked on the head must have chilled him out or something.
Speaking of chilling, we opened up the fridge and found Calvin with tears frozen to his face and Jack sitting by the door. They were fine.
I made them all coffee (except for me because that tar liquid makes me more tired). And Calvin begged that we called the cops.
Riley and Jack agreed, and I was designated the one to call the cops. Plus the owners, who were upset I didn't call them first. Lmao, fair I guess, it's their store.
And we've just have been. Sitting here since. I feel better writing it down, because I don't really like sitting around like this and not knowing what is happening.
Wish me luck, guys. I don't think the cops are coming because they should be here by now, but don't tell the others I said that.
