She’s no longer the young and beautiful woman who ascended to her role at the head of the Temple years prior, but still men and women clamored for a touch from her. She was the closest they could get to the divine outside of the motionless statues treated as the gods they portrayed. Many wanted it in the bedchamber, but others just wanted relief
The stifled coughs of some of her faithful -more than there were yesterday, and more still then the day before that- told her foul things were on the air, and she was close to forbidding her underlings from participating in holy intimacy with the masses. Illnesses were caught too easily in such entangling and Adiris would not have it in her temple.
Still though she gave prayers and sacred water to those who came to the temple to beg Ishtar for help. Holy trinkets against illness were pressed in their hands by the High Priestess, and their discolored fingers would clench around hers in thanks they were not strong enough to say.
This was how the illness passed to her, not on wind or with sex, and Adiris had no idea.
Adiris will adopt all most of the Killers. She will be your vomit mom and give advice and hugs. She promises not to cough on you.

Evan Macmillian/The Trapper
The killer closest to her in ‘age’, Adiris was relieved someone could do most of the killing now and leave Adiris to her priestly endeavors. She generally respects him and can enjoy his company, but dislikes having to watch her already mangled feet for bear-traps when he’s nearby.
Philip Ojomo/The Wraith
There’s sense of pity in her heart when Adiris found out what horrors Philip had found himself doing in life. He didn’t sign up for killing people and Adiris would definitely try to comfort him and ease his mind should he have ever come to her about what he’s unknowingly done.
Max Thompson Jr./The Hillbilly
She knows how it feels to be abandoned by her parents, and though never hurt and imprisoned, she can sympathize with his anger and pain. Adiris would always be willing to spend time with him if he desired company.
Sally Smithson/The Nurse
She’s sure her illness makes both Sally and Herman nervous, and part of her likes that. Sometimes she just kind of coughs at Sally to see what happens. Other than that, she does respect the woman for how long her will kept her sane, even sees her putting all those patients as an act of mercy, especially if they were never going to live outside those walls.
Lisa Sherwood/The Hag
She’s interested in the signs Lisa scratches, the words she mutters in the darkness. Adiris was always interested in the other methods of prayer that other priests would do back in Babylonia, and the curiosity continues with Lisa.
Herman Carter/The Doctor
Despite of her respect for Sally, Adiris doesn’t really like Herman. There’s a difference between treating and tormenting patients and that’s a line she finds that he’s purposefully stepped over. She was in charge of people’s lives -and faiths- once as well, and considers him a poor healer and a poor killer.
Anna/The Huntress
They ‘share’ a forest, and so I can only guess they have occasional interaction, though probably more than Adiris has with most other killers. I feel like Adiris would just watch Anna as she hunts the forest though, not having too much of a reason for contact.
Jeffrey Hawk/The Clown
She does not like him. His face paint and clothes are foreign and strange, and his behavior is unlikable. Adiris tends to stay away from him.
Rin Yamaoka/The Spirit
A child of rage and pain that Adiris wants to protect and take care of. She deserved better than what the Entity gave her (one of the few times she questions the Entity) as an ‘afterlife’. She strives to ease something of Rin’s pain, but knows she can’t do much.
Frank, Julie, Joey, and Susie/The Legion
They’re all children, in Adiris’ eyes, who need to be shown the way to being proper killers and devotees to the Entity. Some need more tutoring than the others, and she’s willing to be that teacher. However if they misbehave...
Michael Myers/The Shape
She finds his quiet stalking to be both interesting and creepy, and finds his drive for killing interesting. He’s not much of a talker, obviously, so Adiris doesn’t mind his presence too much.
Junior Sawyer/The Cannibal
He just wants to take care of his family, and Adiris can appreciate that. She felt the same about the younger priestess under her watch.
Freddy Krueger/The Nightmare
Ew. Just... ew. She’ll smack him with her burner if he comes near her. She’s disgusted by what he’s done.
Amanda Young/The Pig
Her devotion to her teacher reflects the devotion she feels towards the Entity/her old Gods, and so Adiris respects that sort of thing.

There were some sights within the realm of the Entity which Amanda Young struggled to comprehend. She had seen the skies tear open and inky tendrils spill into shadow before hardening like diamond before her very eyes. She had caught glimpses of a woman with no face disappear out of existence and appear elsewhere. Part of her even believed that she had seen a ghost, once.
The absolute gargantuan temple before the Pig was completely new and seemed to stretch into the sky forever. The building was older than she dared guess and it was beautiful. She felt out of place here, in her combat boots, jeans and red material coat. The mask which disguised her face concealed her awe.
She should have been more careful. It took her far too long to notice the person standing inside. The mere sight of her sent the Pig’s blood running cold and her mouth went dry. What the fuck was she supposed to say now?
Adiris had been a priestess in life, a guide to souls who became lost in their faith and their lives, and she adopted such behavior in this second life in the Fog. She’d mentored killers in how to counter their bloodlust in order to feed their Mistress the fear and hope of the survivors, counseled those that felt themselves start to be looked at with the cold hungry eyes of their Mistress when fear started to creep in their souls. She’d seen those she’d made friends with fall into fangs over the centuries, and promised herself ‘never another’.
Sometimes they’d wander into her temple like the little survivors would, lost and in awe, and sometimes they’d be summoned or dropped there to be given such a lesson. Adiris figured with this one, snout-bearing mask and more modern clothes, was one of the former.
“It was not so tall in life, this temple.“ The priestess smiled slightly as she approached the other woman but halted at the top of the stairs, the plague-ridden half of her face began to weep as pus-filled pores moved. Adiris smelled of sweet myrrh and frankincense though, from the incense burning inside the temple and in her personal burner. “I think She wanted it to be... intimidating, instead of welcoming.“ Her voice, accented by a language long dead, was soft and motherly. A lost sheep among the herd must be treated with kindness, no matter the red on it’s wool. “I am Adiris, high priestess to the Entity who culled us from our first lives. Most only arrive here when they have... questions. You may come in, if you wish.“

She smelled of sweet myrrh and dragon’s blood, thanks to the burner she kept with her at near all times. A weapon for survivors, but it was a blessing as well, reacting to the fog and thickening it as she willed. The scent of bile and illness was only evident when too close to her, and she let only a few past the metaphorical barrier that would allow that. Touch hurt as exposed muscles and bones set synapses ablaze, though she could ignore it after so long.
Most days she spent in prayer or on the hunt, and rarely did she visit the others in Her service.Once they were primed and ready to become killers for Her, Adiris had little reason to keep much contact with them unless their skills or drive began to waver. The one she never had to worry about wavering was Evan Macmillan, for he had come along to the Entity’s side as devout as any one of her followers in life had been. There had been brief moments of interaction over the century, as Her favorite and high priestess served as her left and right hands, but they never really talked. And curiosity was a devilish thing. The woman walked amongst the ruins of his estate that evening with no determination as she usually did, partially hoping not to encounter him but also desperate to know the other person with as much love for the Goddess as she had.
“I do apologize if you are busy.“ There’s an air of insecurity to her words before she finds herself padding closer towards him with blistered feet. “I have just found myself to be... bored. Only so much prayer can be said before it feels hollow on the lips, and well...“ She was lost for words, and wanted to swallow her tongue. “I have not spent much time with you as I have others. I wish to rectify this.”
