My name is Karen and Gateaux Dulce is my home-based bakery making truffles, cakes and homemade confections inspired by Canadian, American, European culture desserts. I chose Dulce, because it's a beautiful word that evokes that melt-in-your-mouth texture (dulce de leche) but also because it means sweet in Romanian, which is half of my heritage, and European flavors are a big inspiration for me in the kitchen.

I did that!!! "Thank you sooo much, the cake was exactly to our taste, not to lemony and not to sweet! 🤤 and super pretty 🤩" 💜💜💜💜💜 @_michele_pi_ It was a lemon-blueberry cake with local wild blueberries (40$ worth of them! That's like 3L) with cream cheese frosting. I reduced the sugar in the cake by about 1/3 according to the recipe, and the frosting was also slightly less sweet. This last post in this trilogy (for now) of research cakes from my delicious trip to Hungary, is the famous Dobos torta. Today's #GoodNeighborDay and I've told my neighbors to expect that I'll be testing out some new recipes! Here's another cake pic from my recent research "work"/pleasure trip to Hungary (see more with hashtag #KZ2021🇭🇺 ) I love the Hungarian cakes... Lots of interesting flavors. The one on the right is a cheesecake made with farmer's curd cheese with a bit of apricot inside. The one on the right is the famous "zserbo" which is the hungarian spelling for the French word Gerbeaud , named after the famous cafe, where i had the cake. The #zserbo is layers of sugar crust with walnut filling and apricot jam with chocolate on top.
