The Pew poll? Sounds like fartin in church. Oh, John Waters...I think so, too.
First, yes, people are born gay.
Some people may be on a sliding scale, though, and maybe they are bisexual and maybe their tastes change over time.
It's wonderful and appreciated when people support others with different sexual identities, but I am getting tired of this line that "no one chooses to be gay because no one chooses a hard life."
Gay life should not automatically = hard life. It's a little bit of a different life, except it's not even that.
The evidence that people are born gay (or otherwise) is that people are naturally inclined toward their own sexualities.
The evidence that people are born gay is irrelevant. We shouldn't be hanging on a scientific "diagnosis" of the cause of a person's sexuality as a defense for his or her sexuality. We should not have to defend a person's sexuality anymore than we should have to defend his or her sex, skin or eye color. It's an aspect of the way your body exists in the world; it has nothing to do with character or value. There are awful gay people and awful straight people; there are good gay people and there are good straight people. Everyone is individual. Stop diagnosing others and just accept people as who they are, as long as their behaviors demonstrate that they deserve respect.
This concludes this rant.
