Reblogging it again, as I did in May, just in case some of you missed it then or forgot it.
You know I’ve always been helpful and I still can’t help but being so. But of course after four months it’s harder every day; I’ve always been sure that something was happening behind closed doors. I saw good signs everywhere: Jason’s silence, random tweets or show mentions on social media, clearly old interviews being published after the cancellation but without mentioning that event, producers liking my tweets, those Rise poster pictures took by several cast members at the company that did the casting for the show (and even if they wrote “audition” on those pics - because Telsey does auditions for movies, tv and theatre - I was like ‘they wrote that to not let us know, they surely went there for Rise’) and such things. Even seeing the props being removed and some even donated (!) to the school used as location for filming managed to destroy my hopes. Yes, despite getting nothing, not even a rumor, I could feel something was happening for sure.
The Tv Line blind item came out and I was like HA! SEE? I KNEW IT. I KNOW IT’S RISE (those poster pics were taken around the day this news was published). But it was, eventually, another show and I immediately felt bummed and stupid. What kind of “signs” I felt and saw?? Four months passed and it’s obvious that the cast doesn’t know anything new about someone picking up the show - they rightly look for other gigs and do auditions, it’s a job for them and I completely understand this. So since that blind item reveal came out I asked myself if it’s still right to be hopeful. Does it make any sense? Nothing seems to have happened in four months, so can it happen now? I can’t give an answer to this, I still don’t know whether mine was true faith or simple denial (and there’s a fine line between such things). And questioning your faith in something is never an easy thing.
Unfortunately (or not) my heart, still can’t help but have hope - a different kind of hope, anyway, because that blind item thing hit me a lot. I guess I’m still not ready to let Rise go.
That blog post said that we probably have until October/November. Of course back then it seemed a lot, now…consider also that there’s always the cast “problem”, because to have a new season when cast contracts expired (and at this point they surely did) is not an easy thing. That’s why usually networks make deals before that happens. I got carried away by thoughts, but the real reason I wrote this comment to the reblog was to tell you we have a little more time to hope. Who knows. Every day the chances of a miracle thin, let’s pray it can still happen.
