Welcome to Coolsville, the best little small town in Ohio.
…except for right now, but that’s not really KATHERYN “KAT” MOORE’S (KAYLEE BRYANT) fault, is it? Known as the GOOD GIRL around town, SHE is just your friendly neighborhood CLERK AT SHERIFF'S STATION. Sure they can be PRUDISH and TIMID, but they can also be LOYAL and ENDEARING just like any other 24 year old. That doesn’t mean they have anything to do with our string of recent chilling events, though… right?

~ABOUT~
tw: family dysfunction, anxiety Everything about Kat was unremarkable, she did not stand out, she did not leave a lasting impression, she was a wallflower, but that was alright with her, mostly. Being an only child to parents (Oliver and Sophia) that constantly prioritised their work, made Kat constantly fight for their attention, some days she even wondered if they’d forgotten about her entirely. Where some might act out to achieve this, she simply tried to be the best. Going to church, doing her assignments and getting straight A’s, volunteering for any event that drew in the wider community of Coolsville, prioritising everyone else over herself. She craved the validation from any authority figure she could find.
Being so overlooked, Kat would find herself overhearing things that she didn’t think she should be overhearing. From parents gossiping in the grocery store, to people in the hallways at school, she sometimes found herself silently judging people, based solely off the titbits of information she’d heard from another's mouth. Being a wallflower had never seemed like a good thing until she rather guiltily found mild entertainment in hearing peoples secrets.
Upon returning from college for the break (about 2-3 weeks ago), there was no welcome home party, or messages of welcome back we missed you, things just picked up right where she left off, slipping right back into the person she was when she left. The only temp job she could find was a position at the desk of the Sheriff’s Office, and while she held no power in this position, the association with the authority of the Sherriff's station made her feel like she had accomplished something, and was possibly getting a taste of things to come, but that notion of imposter syndrome would creep in making her think she wasn’t good enough, so she kept trying to prove herself over and over. Constantly trying to win people over, Kat often brought in coffees and pastries in the morning for any of the officers who had been in early. Once past her initial social anxiety around new people, Kat could be quite endearing, being genuinely interested in other people and finding that friendly banter comforting, it made her feel wanted, like she would be missed even half as much as Dani.
It was shocking that someone had gone missing, this sort of crime didn’t just happen here, and it was even more shocking that it should happen to the Logans. Not that anyone deserved this. Her need to be useful, and seen as the good doting daughter, she stuck her hand up for every round of search parties, took round baked dishes for Dani’s family, collected more in church than the others and gave it to the Logans, she even started taking home copies of the files and documents integral to the case, spending her waking hours consumed by the need to solve it and maybe then she wouldn’t be so invisible.
Files wedged into bags, crumpled pages with scribbled notes in the margins, ink stained fingers, hair wrapped in ribbons, a smile that screams of the need to be loved.
