Using slurs or other extremely derogatory language. If such language is relevant to your confession (ex. the gender fandom called you, a favorite character, or a creator a slur for xyz reasons) some self-censorship would be appreciated so this blog doesn't get immediately deleted.

I find it so depressing to know that as soon as men invent or gain access to a new communication technology, they immediately use it to increase tenfold their production and consumption of porn. In the book I’m reading about feminism and technology, the author spends a while explaining how revolutionary the telephone has been for women, allowing them to escape the isolation & confinement of their nuclear households and increasing their access to the outside world and to other women (friends, relatives) in a way that was harder for men to supervise (which is of course why the industry men who developed it spent decades loudly condemning women’s use of the telephone for “trivial gossip”.)

But then she has to concede that this new technology, like most others, also affected women negatively because men immediately started using it for porn (& to harm women, since that is the main purpose of porn). “The diffusion of the telephone facilitated the intrusion of pornography into the home, not only through intrusive and abusive telephone calls made by men to women, but also through the development of sexual services over the phone.” The same thing happened with the internet of course, but before the internet there was also the French Minitel service, which was a kind of small TV screen linked to your telephone that allowed for proto-emailing and instant messaging—and a study by the French government found that the Minitel “vastly contributed to the propagation of hardcore pornography”, notably the sale and purchase of paedophilic content.

I saw a post once where a feminist said she almost wished the Internet had never been invented, because of the explosion in porn it facilitated, and I understand the sentiment, but it’s not limited to the internet, it’s a recurring and pretty much inevitable phenomenon, since porn seems to be men’s primordial interest. It happened with the printing press, with the daguerreotype, the invention of movies of course, now virtual reality… Dworkin called pornography the propaganda tool of woman-hatred, so of course it makes sense that every new information & communication technology men develop always translates to them as better access to ever-increasing amounts of porn.

if I got into this it would take forever to explain, but basically recently it was found out that a nb male (divorced) Minecraft YouTuber and his current gf/fiancée were trying to cancel a successful and well-respected gay MCYTer on the first day of pride month and ruin his reputation using a bullet point plan generated by ChatGPT (which included getting his bf kicked out of a server using fake accusations). Mind you the NB male only came out as so after he fell out with the gay guy and did so in the comment section of a women MCYTer's post about her experiences with misogyny and told people to ship him with women and not men (this is also related to the history b/w him and the gay guy but that takes too long to get into). I think Netflix must be owned by something or someone who also has a stake in trans medicine because it's like a requirement, EVERY single new show they have has to have a trans or enby character shoehorned in, no matter how inappropriate it is for the setting. I'm watching this goofy 80s-style comedy about an asshole man who bumps his head and dreams he's in an Egalian-style matriarchal world, and they still throw in a random girl with they/them pronouns. Before this I was watching a utopian/dystopian sci fi show where there are matriarchal (but egalitatarian) space hippies and they also have a random teenage girl enby, and the two main characters instantly intuit this and call her by the "correct" pronouns without being informed of them.

What WOULD actually be sweet is if people gave female characters mastectomy scars as a way to show solidarity with women who’ve had to have them removed due to breast cancer, but no, they’re fetishizing women going through unnecessary irreversible surgeries because the patriarchy and the gender cult has taught them to hate themselves. So sad.

The "men don't read because books aren't written for them anymore" claims remind me of western film/tv/animation companies putting out statements that they'd like to make teen boys a major target demographic again. As if that ever stopped being the case.

TV animation, in particular, has pandered to the concept that "boys won't watch girl shows, so boy shows are more profitable" since at least the 1980s.

For a few years, it seemed like girls were finally being valued as half of the general audience, and now we're teetering on either a return to male as default, or a return to overly-gender stereotyped animated series.
