Interesting hypothesis about Varys. Well, we know from the last book that Varys had some very different plans but since nothing from that plot has so far appeared in the show I assumed the show runners had decided against including it. The rest of the season should prove interesting, to say the least.

Just one side comment–I hope Varys and Tyrion don’t end up working against each other. I have enjoyed their peculiar friendship. Although both men are  “missing” something in terms of their physical bodies, they both have exceptional brains and both have cultivated a belief (not shared by many in the Game) that rulers should be concerned with the welfare of their subjects. I’d much prefer they join forces than work against each other.
