Take the time to watch this, it’s MAGIC
for everyone who is asking for a source, here you go! it's a commercial produced for the Japanese infrastructure company, Kandenko.
here's a similar video by the same company using conductive ink! there's a good chance you may have seen this one before.
if you like the music, the producer's name is YeYe, but I believe both songs were produced for these commercials and are probably not uploaded elsewhere
one helpful comment by iheartvelma (i think?) in the notes: It’s done partly with conductive thread / ink, and the pop-up shapes are made with Nitinol ‘memory wire’, an alloy that can ‘learn’ a shape and then ‘remember’ it when heated (in this case, by an electric current). https://youtu.be/4Yi4epJ83EE
And now the school is closed.

HONOLULU (AP) — Kai Kahele was prepared to do the unthinkable: take on an incumbent from his own party for a U.S. House seat.
He felt so strongly that Hawaii residents were being hurt by the presidential ambitions of Rep. Tulsi Gabbard that he announced early on he would challenge his fellow Democrat.
Then, just months after Kahele got in the race, Gabbard announced she wouldn’t seek re-election to the House seat she had held since 2013 and would instead focus on her campaign for the White House.
Kahele’s bold move paved the way for him to claim an easy victory Saturday in the Democratic primary for Hawaii’s 2nd Congressional District.

The former vice-president of marketing for a controversial genetic testing company has pleaded guilty in federal court to paying physicians millions of dollars in illegal kickbacks to order genetic tests for Medicare patients.
Donald Matthews, who was Vice President of Market Development for Proove Biosciences, pleaded guilty this week in federal court. Matthews faces up to 5 years in prison and a $250,000 fine when he’s sentenced in October.
Proove filed for bankruptcy in 2017 after its headquarters in Irvine, CA was raided by FBI agents investigating healthcare fraud. The company specialized in DNA testing that allegedly improved the effectiveness of pain management treatment and helped determine whether a patient is at risk of opioid addiction.
According to Matthews’ plea agreement, Proove paid doctors at least $3.5 million to induce them to order DNA tests for their patients. The company then billed Medicare approximately $45 million to pay for the tests and received about $21 million in unlawful payments.
“Proove concealed the true nature of the kickbacks by falsely characterizing the payments as compensation for participating in a clinical research program sponsored by Proove,” the U.S. Attorney’s Office in San Diego said in a statement.
“In furtherance of the scheme, Proove placed its own employees in doctors’ offices. The Proove employees collected a cheek swab and completed most of the paperwork associated with the ‘clinical research’ program. Without the financial compensation, Matthews admitted that most doctors were not interested in ordering Proove’s tests for their patients.”
Proove paid kickbacks to an undisclosed number of doctors throughout the country, with the payments tied to how many DNA tests that a doctor ordered. When doctors complained about delayed payments, a Proove executive demanded that they increase their testing volume.
“Kickbacks corrupt the medical judgment of physicians, generate unnecessary tests and treatments, increase health care costs, and create unfair competition,” said U.S. Attorney Robert Brewer. (Read more at link)
Has there been any legal action against the participating doctors?
Oh my God I got one of these tests. About 3 years ago or so, my GP who was also my pain doctor had a ‘new doctor’ doing a kind of observation residency in his clinic, something along those lines, and that new doctor (who I only eve saw once with my reg doctor) told me about the ‘genetic test to determine if opiates were the most effective pain control med for me’, and I got the test and yes, I’m on Medicare/Medicaid. Holy fuck.... I don’t think it did me any harm, as far as I know, but holy fuck. I was a part of this. The test said ‘yes opiates were most effective, I just have a high tolerance’, now I’m in a really good pain clinic that is using new technology to treat my pain and get me off the meds. I’m fucking blown away.
@aliceliddellsmirror - wanna bet that “observation residency” guy worked for the pharmaceutical company mentioned above? If they just did a cheek swab, no need to worry about any harm to you. I’m on hydrocodone myself for lots of back problems - degenerative disc disease, fused vertebrae, slight scoliosis to name a few. If you don’t mind, what kind of pain clinic? I worry about those here in FL since we have a lot that are in strip malls and are more likely “drug dealers” than serious professionals.
P.S. - How are you feeling? Have you gotten an appointment to be tested yet? I hope you aren’t worrying too much. It’s easy to say, harder to do. But I try to remember: worrying is a waste of time because it can’t change the outcome, either way. It just makes us feel worse. STAY SAFE my dear. And “deep breaths” and pet as many kitties as possible. It lowers blood pressure.
My dog was raised with a cat and does “cat stuff” including the famous cat stretch! My wife and I joke that he is Dog Hardware running Cat Software.
He likes his boxes.
He sat in this container like this for 20 minutes.
He looks comfy. Has he been binging Maru videos?

Theologians: Animals can’t sin, because they cannot comprehend right vs. wrong in a meaningful way.
Me, a Cat Owner: Yeah, Bullshit.
All the puzzle pieces are fitting together to show us that Cait and Tony really did get married on Saturday in a Roman Catholic ceremony in Somerset 🎉👰🤵💒❤️️🥂😘
Now that the wedding is over, I don’t mind posting the announcement from the Church calendar:
We’ve seen the flowers set up in the church:
And thanks to another NST, we know that Cait’s friends Karolina Wydra and Marta Milans were in the church on Saturday because we can see the ceiling of the church behind them in this IG Story:
And then we have photos of many of Cait’s friends as well as her sister Deidre and her mother Ann in Somerset:
Clockwise: Sam Heughan, Simon Kassianides, Karolina Wydra & Marta Milans, Cait’s sister Deidre Balfe & Cait’s mother Ann Balfe, Doctor Mark Colbert & Karolina Wydra, Anita Anderson, Makeup Designer, Sara Ziff; center: Donal Brophy & Marta Milans
It appears that the wedding reception was either at Babbington House
or Hauser & Worth in Somerset:
Regardless, it appears that the wedding actually happened, in a very official Roman Catholic ceremony.
I hope that Cait will eventually post some photos of her and Tony but I don’t blame her for holding off on that. She probably doesn’t want her special day ruined by the comments some fans might make. It is very sad that that might be why she won’t post, at least for a while.
I hope she eventually does post. I’m sure that Tony looked handsome and that she was a gorgeous bride!
ADDENDUM 02.14.20:
Just so all the “puzzle pieces” of the wedding regarding photos from family and friends are in one post, I’m adding this information verbatim from another POST of mine dated August 16, 2019 to this one:
“A different NST posted the photo below left of one of Cait’s sisters, from the wedding. Lorraine appears to be wearing a bridesmaid’s gown.
“Add to that a photo of the flowers at the church from the florist’s website and we are beginning to get a sense of the color scheme of the wedding. It appears to be one of late summer, early autumn, with rich greens, delicate pinks, wine red and white. Both the dress and the floral arrangement are classic–as befits the bride.
“Simply lovely.”
Reblogging because a year ago today Cait and Tony got married. It’s hard to believe it has been a year.
Sadly, there are still grown women who believe the marriage was a “fake” and that Sam and Cait are “secretly married” with two daughters. 🙄
For those who still doubt that Cait and Tony are married. Here’s more “evidence” to support that they are.
Aug. 10 & 15, 2020: POST1, POST2, and POST3 discuss how Cait and Tony were married in a Roman Catholic ceremony and they reference the 08.15.19 People and Town & Country articles about the wedding. ;
Aug. 15, 2019: This POST is about Diana Gabaldon’s 08.15.19 Facebook congratulations to Cait and Tony on their marriage and this POST is Diana’s confirmation that she had spoken to Cait directly that morning about the wedding.
Sept. 8 & 9, 2020: This POST shows photos of Cait and Tony wearing their wedding rings at various TIFF events including the Chanel & Variety Female Filmmaker Dinner, an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, and the the Ford v Ferrari premiere.
The wedding planner. This POST discusses how Cait had apparently been planning her wedding at least as far back as 10.12.18 (based on something on the wedding planner’s IG page). This POST provided confirmation from the wedding planner in Bridebook and Nearly Weds that she had in fact planned Cait and Tony’s wedding.
Nov. 3, 2019: This POST discusses how Cait’s wearing her wedding ring set at the BAFTA Scotland Awards is literally symbolic of her wearing her vows on her left ring finger. Tony was also filmed with her at the awards.
Nov. 4, 2019: In the Is it just me? podcast with Jo Elvin and James Williams, Cait refers to her “husband” twice and mentions that she got engaged in Australia (see POST).
Nov. 20, 2019: This POST discusses a tweet by Cait during a Q & A where she acknowledges that she got married in response to a question that mentions Tony.
Jan. 21 & Feb. 2, 2020: Here are two interviews where Cait acknowledges she recently got married during filming: Interview 1 (dated 01.21.20–translated in this POST) was with Margaret Gardiner for rooi rose and Interview 2 (dated 02.02.20) was with Ruben V. Nepales for inquirer.net. In both articles, Cait made it clear that her husband was someone who wasn’t Sam.
Feb. 10, 2020: This POST shows Cait posing with Tony on 02.10.20 on the red carpet of the Oscars. This is a typical way celebrities acknowledge their spouses or serious romantic relationships
Feb. 15, 2020: Theresa Corigliano discusses in Check Your Local Listings how Cait indicated that her husband “manages bands”–a direct reference to Tony (who manages The Fratellis–see POST).
March 20, 2020: Cait tweeted that her “hubby made [the] pasta” that was seen in her bowl during the IG Live Q & A on March 19th.
April 2, 2020: Cait finally mentions Tony’s name in an anecdote while being interviewed by Lauren Lyle. (For a transcript of what Cait said, see this POST.)
April 24, 2020: In a Reserved Magazine IG Live interview Cait mentions (about 9:57 into the video) how when fans “attack” her “husband” she gets “super hurt.”
And if nothing else, consider that Cait’s mother confirmed in a Northern Sound radio interview on 01.08.18 that Cait got engaged to Tony on Dec. 28, 2017. Here’s what her mother said:
“She got engaged on the 28th I think it was. Eh, Tony actually rang us (chuckles) the night before. Eh, I had been wondering, you know, coming up to Christmas would be a possibility but he waited until after Christmas and they were in Australia for Christmas and he proposed to her there. So we’re thrilled for her. It could either be um a little quiet one somewhere but I don’t know what the plans are. We haven’t talked about it yet. I’m dying for the chat about it all when she does get back to Scotland.”
IMHO anyone who thinks that Cait’s elderly mother would lie about the engagement is someone who just can’t let themselves believe that Cait isn’t with Sam. Probably nothing will convince them.
President Trump on Monday doubled down on his assertion that children are "essentially immune" from COVID-19, despite increasing evidence that shows otherwise.
I NEVER knew children were MAGICAL CREATURES. Wonderful news.
Please Mr. Trump, share MORE FAIRY TALES WITH US. With Dipshit Donnie in charge there is certainly going to be A HAPPY ENDING FOR ALL OF US.
We as humans do not learn from history and are therefore doomed to repeat it. The Spanish flu lasted for 2 years. The second wave killed far more people than the first, and in total there were 4 waves.
It killed somewhere between 20 million to 50 million people. Citizens were ordered to wear masks, and everywhere shut down and boarded up schools, movie theaters, and business. Mail distribution stopped, as did garbage collection.
Many people had to dig graves for their own family members.
Here we are 100 years later, and what have we learned? Half the people do not want to wear masks because they think it is a hoax/it is not that bad/the government is lying/insert insane right-wing conspiracy theory rhetoric here.
People want to prioritize their own narcissistic desires and privileges over other human beings’ lives.
What did they have in 1918? No TV. No internet, not a lot of food supply.
What do we have? TV, internet, movies that can be watched from home, UberEATS...you name it. And yet we are a world full of entitled and selfish people who lack human empathy and act oppressed when given any minute sense of responsibility.
Travel is not a necessity. Movie theaters are not a necessity. Throwing parties is not a necessity.
Being a decent human being should not be a revolutionary act....it should be common sense.
