Build #5: Sailor Venus

Minako Aino, or better known as Sailor Venus, is the fourth and last Sailor Soldier (in the first story arc) to be discovered by Usagi. Though she was the last to be discovered, she was the first to be awakened and realize her true destiny. This soldier is often associated with love and gold. In the manga and anime series she dreams of becoming a famous idol. Therefore, our theme is to play off of this focus and determined dreamer. We paired this floral patterned white dress with a mustard gold cardigan. Furthermore, we kept true to her signature hair style, and styled a small red bow with a half up hair do. To play off the gold, accessorized with a red-mask inspired necklace by StarlightDecoDream and Sailor Venus ring by Sculptural Renaissance.

Time for Build #4: Sailor Jupiter!

For Makoto Kino, or better known as Sailor Jupiter, we wanted to capture her laid back personal style, in comparison to the other sailor soldiers. We paired a a more updated slouchy sweater with a zipper to add more edge. Makoto's strong and independent personality is well represented by her most undeniable feature, her height. She is often noted for having such a tall stature, and with that we were looked into a longer sweater. Furthermore, we added olive-gray cargo pants to play well with the illusion of proportions.

Time for Build #3: Sailor Mars! For Rei Hino's build, we wanted to capture the different portrayals of her personality across the anime and manga. The anime tended to portray her as a hot-blooded individual who bickered with Usagi a lot, although she did care about Usagi very much. On the other hand, Rei was portrayed as more serious and reserved individual. Keeping this in mind, our first instinct was to style Mars' build with a short red dress to express her "fiery" personality. We then paired it down with an oversized blazer to make the outfit more modest and a step toward looking more dignified. The combination ended up great, we'd say. Build #2 of Project Moon: Sailor Mercury! We couldn't help but play up the "geeky" stereotype of pairing plaid with a cardigan. To make it more chic, we paired the plaid dress with a simple pair of black wedges and white socks. The build is perfect for a mix of sophisticated and cute, just like our dear Ami! It's finally time for...Project Moon!!! For the next two weeks, we will be conducting a Sailor Moon themed giveaway + series of builds representing each of the Inner Senshi.
